If you have a Datacentre it can be operated via the USB port. I got mine working with a joystick.

They have no feedback, however, and cannot be used for repetitive tasks with accuracy. Fitting small potentiometers to each 'joint' and using the Analogue Port for feedback could produce a fun system.
Thanks - both of those sounds like interesting ideas to try. I have a Datacenter and I think JMS2 (John) sent me a link to post you made about it. :D

Looks like I'm required on "In-Law" duty this afternoon though. :(

Strictly speaking today Mrs Boffin finished making it rather than it arriving but close enough!

It needs to be slightly bigger but pretty good for a first go! The material is UV resistant. :D

It also came with some bonus games and manuals. Sweet.

Well done =D> =D> =D> I think I have about 6 or 7 of those in my collection :-D

I probably have a few duplicate games, the common ones such as Snapper, Hopper, Sphinx etc. I could dig them out and send them to you for price of P&P if you wanted them... Drop me a PM if interested.

Although I got the 2600 nearly a year ago I have finally (this lunch time) got a useable picture out of it!!!

The before photo can be seen here:

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=16823&hilit=2600#p234027

And now we have:
45BBFCE7-13C1-454B-8646-6BFEB1A73217.jpeg
The image on the TV looks somewhat better in the flesh than the photo.

It took a combination of recapping and using a ZX81 PSU!

I have a nice modern 9V PSU for the Spectrum that I also use on ZX81s and it works very well (on the Spectrum and ZX81). On this Atari however I end up with bands of white or interference patterns going up the screen.

The after market PSU that came with the Atari is even worse!

The picture is completely stable (so far) and very nice indeed using the original (early 80s) ZX81 PSU. I guess these, or at least this one, don’t like modern switching PSUs?

A nice, new HP Officejet 7740 A3 Printer (w/ scanner).

Bought specifically to enable me to get some homebrew BBC/Electron releases out over the next few months, as I suspect I'm going to be very unbusy!

An Epson HX-20. I blame this forum for this, I never heard of this device before it was discussed here.

Nifty little machine though. And it seems to work ok!

Before I found this forum the number of ‘retro’ computers that I owned was six... (and before I got a BBC B and Master 128 from a school, it was half that number). Don’t ask how many I have now...

This is on page 10 of the September 1981 edition of Computing Today, which I am presently scanning ready to upload to the Archive. Rather an understated advertisement for such a momentous machine. :D

I wonder how many people received their BBC micro in October. :?

And I bet it put the wind up Sinclair and the others. Here is an advert talking about a new micro that would have the backing of the BBC and a raft of educational TV programmes. If you were in the market for a micro at that time, you'd be a bit mad to not buy it (apart from the cost of course, which put it out of reach of most people). Did it constitute unfair competition?

Nice :-)

I would have like one, but I missed the boat on the Kickstarter.

I am a backer of the Atari VCS console though, but don't know when that's likely to arrive.

Second Kickstarter will hopefully start directly after the last machine ships, which is likely to be next week.

It's a reimagined Atari VCS (2600) games console, made by Atari but isn't retro like the Spectrum Next. It's all modern up to date architecture inside. https://atarivcs.com/
