The board issue is not the factor here, the factor is which ULA version is fitted. There are three ULA versions. The first two versions did not generate the part of the video signal known as the “back porch” because monochrome (black and white) TVs did not need it. Sinclair then introduced an improved and final ULA version. This ULA does generate the “back porch”.

I've briefly looked at the 51/4 disc surface and I've not seen any mould :D So today I'll clean my 51/4 drive heads and go for a verification first.
