Videos & Photos from Eurogamer Expo / 22-25 Sept

Post by Arcadian » Sat Oct 01, 2011 8:08 pm

EGTV Eurogamer Expo 2011 Round Up (The 'Retro Edit'):

(this is an unofficial edit of the original presentation, which strips everything out except the retro content!)

Rosetinted Gamers (The 'Retro Software' edit):

(again, this is an edited version of an original, longer feature - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tat8DxBcEHI - which only includes the Retro Software/Blurp interview with Samwise)

Inside Xbox (The 'Replay Retro Zone' edit):

(no Retro Software/BBC footage here - but the presenter does hone in on Repton, albeit Gil Jaysmith's Spectrum port)

Pictures to follow ...

Yes, that's right - the final three pictures feature former Micro User contributor, Martin Hollis - who went on to write the original Goldeneye for the N64!

Am currently sifting through thousands of photos we took of the rest of the show ... will get those linked from this thread once they're ready.

But all in all, not a bad week's worth of publicity for the Beeb and for Retro Software, with Hard Hat Harry and especially Blurp receiving some rather nice coverage.

Bravo Samwise, you did us proud! =D> =D>

Really great to see Blurp featured not once but twice! And some great photos too Dave.

I wondered how noticeable the horrendous hangover I had was ... ;)

I really should be better prepared for these spot interviews, like remembering to take a razor with me.

I also have absolutely no idea how accurate some of the facts I was spouting were ...

Sam.

Just spotted another retrospective from Eurogamer, which includes some more coverage of the Beeb and Retro Software.

This time it's a podcast from the, ahem, "Gamew*nk" website.

The Replay feature starts at 38:07 whilst the Beeb stuff kicks in at 43:38.

But be warned there are four letter words aplenty! [-X

So if you'd prefer to avoid the naughty words, below is an edit which includes Lindsay's report only ... where the content is more PG/PG-13 than X! ;)
(Yes, it was presented by the very same young lady that impressed us all with her Frak high scores).

Nice little spot. Good to hear Blurp being ranked up there with Frak!, and that was just the Blurp preview version of level 1 ... !

Glad you guys enjoyed it! We all loved Replay Retro and that piece was a joy to put together. Can't wait to come back for more at Blackpool.

Still proud of those Frak! scores too!

Lindsay
