BBC Master - Sideways Ram jumper

Post by archie456 » Tue Dec 03, 2019 9:29 pm

Hi,

I have a Master 128 and have removed the Roms from it (Pascal Roms), and now it has nothing other than the standard ROM that contains Basic, MOS, DFS etc.

But when I try out a few games that use sideways ram they complain there is not enough available.

I think there is a jumper on the board that disabled the sideways ram so the ram sockets can be used?

Can someone point out where this jumper is and now I can restore the standard amount of sidewats ram banks.

Thanks.

OK, I've found the answer to my own question. This website gives good info on the jumpers:

Thanks.

Retype of thing :D

It's always best to load ROM images into sideways RAM on a Master or use a ROM cartridge - otherwise you end up with the situation you discovered! :) In that the Master 128 is more like a Master 64 :D
