Epson HX20 new battery pack, need a PSU

Post by apt-e » Wed Jun 12, 2019 12:20 pm

Hi All,
After trawling the internet for what seems like years, can anybody answer a simple question, without going OTT on the tech, LOL!!

I have 2 near perfect HX20s, the battery packs have long since died, both have no PSUs.
I have purchased two battery packs (Nicads) that are near enough the same spec as the originals , and are marked up as for the HX20.

Question, what is the best way of charging the battery packs using the original psu port.

What voltage is needed 6v , 7.5v , 9v at 600ma. (Or whatever)

Any suggestions please.

Paul

or just read this part of the thread
if recharchable battery , need 9.3v 600ma unregulated, so 5v end up on motherboard, just bin the battery's & put 5v straight to board

do you have any MIA eproms or any .WAV files of games ???

Hi,
I would like to keep it portable, but if the worse comes to the worse, I will bypass the battery and wire straight to the board.

Ive got a 6v 1600mah Ni-Mh which might also do the trick, using 9v 150ma (600ma max) charger.

Will be nice to see the units running again.

Regards

Paul

Lol, no at the moment, I have nothing for it, or them in this case now.

Once I get chance to do some work on them, I will get back to you all, thanks for the help so far.
Best get back to my Acorn Atom restoration too.

Thanks

Paul
