I picked this one as it looked a bit of platform fun(gi)

The randomly placed shrooms are sometimes ridiculously hard to get without running out of time.

Made it to level 3 (I think), slowly getting used to doing things in a certain order to progress but I kept missing that last mushroom on the middle platform.

Score: 3333

Last one for this morning. I certainly didn't think I would get this high a score when I first started playing this..... 5,348 ......

Now If I could only figure out how to navigate level 3 without dying every time.....

This is on my Master which makes capturing the score on the actual screen I've played rather difficult..... easier to capture in the emulator.

Harder to get a better score right now.....think I've almost got level 4 solved.... 8,729 ......

Edit: I have managed to get to level 5 after much consternation. I don't know why I thought it would get easier but man that one is worse than a houdini trick.....

A couple of tips for this one....

Getting through the early levels needs to be as fast as possible. That's how points seem to be maximized. The mushrooms are only worth, I think, 15 points each so your score doesn't actually go up dramatically that way, it's by how much time you save on the clock that the score boosts.

If I lose a life in the first level I just start it all over. It's not worth losing a life that early in this game.

On level 3 there are pixel perfect jumps (you can jump down part way on a 'block' to get a mushroom within a letter). It's tricky but quite doable. Care is needed.....and practice.

Other than this, most people putting in a bit of time on this should get scores somewhere around what I'm getting....or better.

Randomness plays a fairly big role in this game. To make some levels easier you need to be lucky and not have mushrooms placed in hard-to-get places, like just on the other side of an escalator or slide. And, as already noted, you need to have a plan for level 4 when you get there - and level 8. :D

Yes, I usually hope for less mushrooms and especially not in the difficult places. After a while you can usually get them fairly easily but they are time consuming, hence score reducing.

You got to level 8?

High Score Tables Updated......

.....even though so far we have minimal players.....

Folks, this is a really good platformer, difficult but good, especially once you kind of catch on to the way it works. It's also a puzzle solver because the screens are definitely not straight forward as one might think and at times it has pixel perfect jumping so.....it has everything.

Hope to see more of you on before the end of this round, it would be nice to have the company.

If you like platformers, this is most likely a game for you.

This is a new game to me..... didn't have a lot of variety in Iceland nor much time with the Beeb. Was barely starting to build my software collection and then poof, back to Canada....without the Beeb.... :-(

Slight improvement, the randomness really messes with your mind :?

Level 3 is punishing with moving downwards, sometimes you can drop a few bricks, other times you crater if the jump travels too far sideways even if it's only 2 bricks down.

EDIT: Only made it level 4 twice with one life remaining so haven't worked out how to get everything. Kept missing a jump past escalator or slide ](*,)

Slowly starting to learn level 5.... have the purple jumps down. Have an idea how to solve the rest of it but I think it's going to be a real pixel effort to get it, more so than the last 4 levels.... 11,443 ......

I never had this BITD, but whenever I've tried it in an emulator before now I've given up in annoyance after about 30 seconds. So I've never given this a proper play before now.

It's infuriating, but it does have its own kind of internal logic that kinda makes sense. I'm starting to see the appeal.

Got to level 3 so far.

One more for today, meant to say I really like the sprites in this game with hardly any flicker.

Worked out screen 5 but didn't have a good run on it.

Just for fun - because I'm not participating, so think of me as a pace-setter if you like - I uploaded a video of the Electron version which shows how to do some of the levels. You can, of course, practice the individual levels in the editor.

I was unlucky on level 6 because I forgot that I needed to do a pixel-perfect jump at one point. Then I wasn't careful enough on level 7, so it was game over at that point. :)

C'mon Ed, the only reason I kept at it was to catch up to your score

It's not a bad game once you get used to it and I find that once I get through the first level without dying then I generally enjoy the other levels. Sometimes though the first level is a pain and I'll have multiple attempts with out getting off the bottom platform or get most of the mushrooms and then mess up on the ice platform usually :-x ](*,) :-({|= .

Level 4 took a lot of practice attempts before realising there is really only one way you can do it, in fact all of the levels have some quirky sequence specific trick that once worked out makes the level less intimidating although no less easy to get the moves just right.

I absolutely agree with all your statements here. The game is just that and I have issues with the same areas that you do.
