RISC OS 4.39 ROMs

Post by Sniffer » Sat Dec 01, 2018 10:11 am

As per the subject, I'm after a set of ROMs for RISC OS 4.39, what was termed 'Adjust'.

If you can help, let me know.

Cheers.

Just to note, if you can find the 4.02 ROMs (might be easier) you can softload 4.39 over the top very easily.

I am not sure how that sits legally, but assuming you 'bought' the softload version could you burn it onto a couple of EPROMs?

I should have posted back, my apologies, but I actually received a set the other day.

The code that makes up the roms is compressed (down from 6meg I believe) so apart from any legallities, it wouldn't be a simple matter of burning a couple of eproms from the softload.

3QD Developments Ltd have said they intend to create another batch of 'physical' roms but not within the next six mionths.

Ah good, glad you found some. The biggest advantage over softload to me was the quicker booting :)

I guess they need to order a certain number of actual ROMs in one go. It's a worthwhile upgrade for RiscPC / A7000 machines though, IMO.
