Hello!

Post by Dan1975 » Fri Oct 19, 2018 7:01 pm

Hi.
I'm Dan from Weston Super Mare.

Have got a BBC B with gotek drive that I have had for a few months. Had an Electron when I was younger.

Am slowly trying to rebuild my retro collection as I stupidly sold my entire previous collection a few years ago as didn't think I had the time or the space. Have regretted it ever since especially selling the jewel in the crown, an Atari Falcon.

Cheers

Dan

Welcome.

With hindsight we would all be millionaires :)

Good luck on restoring your collection.

Thank you for the warm welcome :D

The Electron is next on my list unless a ridiculous bargain comes up for something else lol.

At the mo I have the BBC, an Atari ST, SNES, PS2 and mini Sensible Software Megadrive (Just has Sensible Soccer, Megalomania and Cannon Fodder built in)

I threw nearly all my Unix stuff in the skip 15 years ago. Stacks of Sun Sparcs and a couple of DEC Alphas + peripherals and software. Thankfully I kept my HP C-180. And my Acorn Atom!

I think a rough guestimate of my Unix collection over the years would be about:

1992 £100k+ (New prices)
2005 £100
2018 £6000 (ebay prices)

Sadly I made the decision in 2005.

I still have a SPARC enterprise server, but rarely start it as I need to be standing a mile away to hear myself think.
