For Sale: A3000 for repair

Post by cmorley » Sat Sep 15, 2018 2:24 pm

I recently picked up a fairly cheap A3000. It has battery rot unfortunately. It leaked as far as the keyboard connectors and ruined the flexi - although conductive epoxy might work to repair the pads or glue on wires… I've seen this done. CJE have keyboards for A3000 £36 incl delivery.

I removed the battery, neutralised the battery goo and removed all the corroded/damaged connectors so a clear picture of the damage can be seen. Some traces will need repairing or jumper wires. Doesn't look too bad (compared to Amigas I've seen/repaired).

The floppy drive works. I tested it in another A3000.

The case is dirty but otherwise not in bad shape. Needs a good clean.

It must have old RiscOS ROMs as they are 28 pin jobs.

No mains plug.
Main board should be repairable by someone with experience. Keyboard is probably only good for spares.

ONO £50 anyone? I can post at cost or collection from Oxford, next RiscOS show or next ABUG.
