Acorn magazine collections question

Post by VectorEyes » Thu Jun 14, 2018 8:14 am

I've recently been given a few boxes of Acorn magazines. Micro User, Acorn User, Archimedes World and A&B Computing. They're great for nostalgia, but realistically I'm never going to have time to scan them and I don't think there's much info in them that isn't already online.

Hence my question: would they be good to anyone? Does anybody have any interest in such magazine collections these days? If not I think I might have to get rid of them in a few weeks, so I thought I'd ask here. If anyone is looking for specific issues please tell me!

I'd be interested in RISCPC era stuff.
Most (all?) Micro user mags are scanned so too Acorn user I think.

The mags might be online but there is no substitute for holding a paper copy in ones hand, I feel. :D

Why do I keep collecting Acorn gear? I'm going to need a considerably bigger man-cave. :?

Useful to anyone?

I suppose you have a whole forum aroused like felines on catnip, don't you! :D

Lucky I technically bat for the other side, else I'd be doing it too.

Whoops, forgot to come back and reply to the responses last week. Sorry!

Is there anyone in (South) London who'd be interested in a few boxes of Acorn magazines, then? If not I'll look into going through them and recording exactly which ones I have, but that'll probably take considerably longer.

I'll have a think about it. I'd like to come to the Cambridge ABUG in September, but it's the day after a 17hr 'plane flight so not sure I'll be able/allowed to go!
