Re: High Score Challenge S8 - R6 - Felix Meets the Evil Weevils
Ah, me. My own choice of game for the competition, but two birthdays in rapid-fire succession (mine and my wife's) have left me with hardly any time to play!
It's a shame, because as with Cosmic Camouflage last time I'm increasingly fascinated by to what extent age and craftiness can compensate for the fact that my reflexes probably aren't what they were a quarter of a century ago - or at the least, they need a hell of a lot longer to get to full speed now than then.
I got to level five and my high score below of 14,600 on the second game (of just two) that I played this morning, but no further, as the leap up in speed which Chrisn mentions above is nothing I was able to cope with at the first time of asking! Yet I must have been able to in the past, as my records indicate scores in the mid-high 20,000s. I think another half-day alone with this fun, fast, amusing title would have elicited a different outcome.
Game played as always on an original Beeb, this time an original Model B tape version backed up on to a 5.25" floppy. I think Prince Rangdo of Arg is trying to attack my computer, which makes a nice change from the cat.

Final High Score Tables updated for this round......
What an excellent, but tough platform. The game has just enough randomness in it to keep it interesting. This time JoolsH - came in first in a stiff competition. Great game Jools and congratulations. Great win.
