A5000 Mounting a 2nd Floppy Drive

Post by vectorlight » Fri Feb 17, 2017 10:38 am

Just thought I'd share this on here. I'm not sure how others (if any?) have added a 2nd drive to an A5000, but here is how I did it using a 3D printer to make some small plastic mounts:

If anyone wants to try this themselves, the CAD file can be downloaded from my site:

Nice idea. =D>

I used metal, stand-off pillars for mine.

This is really cool! I don't suppose I could buy a set off you, could I? (Or if anyone else here has a 3D printer and would be able to print me one.)

I'm trying to mount a Gotek in the lower drive slot in my A5000, and looking for something a bit sturdier than the pile of cardboard and tape that was my first thought :)

I've used these in mine, work perfectly (I have a gotek as the second drive). I'll try and print a set today - no cost! Although I fear postage might be a bit steep?

Thank you! Will PM -- you'd be surprised that Royal Mail postage to the USA isn't too pricey. Happy to cover the costs of course!
