Can anyone play CANASTA?
Can anyone play CANASTA?
Hi,
I have just typed in all 9 games from "The A&B collection spring 1985" magazine.
One of those games is CANASTA.
Is there anyone here who could test it out as I have no idea what I am doing!
The PDF of the magazine, which does include instructions for the game is at flaxcottage.com in the BOOKS section.
The ssd of the games is below: If playing on an emulator, use MASTER mode as PAGE looks like it needs to be at &0E00

Re: Can anyone play CANASTA?
I used to play Canasta when I was in the sixth form BITD. That was a few years ago and I have forgotten now.
May I add the disc image to my archive to complement the booklet?

Of course John,
However, I have not "tittivated" it yet.
There is no menu, or anything fancy.
You can, of course have any updated versions when everything has had more of a test

Re: Can anyone play CANASTA?
My old flatmate used to play Canasta on his desktop PC within Windows. It had a number of sampled speech files included that would be played as you went along, such as "Welcome to Canasta". I never did learn to play it myself, though.
Just remember kids, Beeb spelled backwards is Beeb!

Anyone bored enough to try this yet?

Re: Can anyone play CANASTA?
My daughter loves playing Canasta, I could probably persuade her to try it. She knows all the rules and so if there's a problem with it, she'll find it.
Mind you, a new Wii game has turned up today so it does have some stiff competition!

Re: Can anyone play CANASTA?
Apparently, there are minor differences to the international rules. These differences are outlined in the magazine, which can be found on flaxcottage.com in the "books" section.
Thank you

My daughter has given it a good go. She found a bug in line 2330 which I have fixed in the disc image below. Apart from that, the game played fine. Interestingly, she didn't need any guidance on how to drive it, which I was impressed by!

Thank you - and your daughter - very much!
