I've got a 5 1/4 disk i'm trying to make a copy of.
Disk fault 18 at 01/00
I've tried on 2 bbc machines trying:
*ENABLE
*BACKUP 0 0
*ENABLE
*BACKUP 0 1
I've been able to do this on both machines using another floppy no problems but not this disk. The disk runs fine when I boot it up. From other forum discussions havent' been able to get to the bottom of this. Would it be because the disk I'm trying to copy is an original AcornSoft disk, are these somehow protected from copying?
Any help appreciated.
Ralph

Re: Copying disk problem 18
It's sector not found, probably because track 1 has non standard sector headers.
It's possible that it's not only part of a copy protection scheme, but also allows the disk to work on both 40 and 80 track drives.

Oh right, can't believe I guessed that right
, the disk is both 40 and 80 which I was surprised about.
It was for AcornSoft turtle graphics if anyone has a copy appreciated.
The version of turtle that I've found on this site isn't the AcornSoft one and the commands are slightly different to the AcornSoft manual.
