Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection
Aha, interesting. So I guess most people are using RAMFS as the default? I've no idea how to do that, but do now my setup doesn't have battery backup, so I suspect I can't change the order?
Anyway, off topic now, thanks everybody for your help - hopefully somebody else might benefit from it in future.

Sorry! I completely forgot about the SHIFT R BREAK
should have mentioned it earlier. It's completely normal and I do it too.
Lee.
Edited for insane phone auto-correct...

Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection
Just a thought - is it worth keeping an up-to-date (ish) index of the disks in the first post of this thread? I'm sure many/most users of the collection would find this very useful.
(As above, it could be derived easily from: bbcmicro.co.uk/ss.php )

Here is an Excel sheet I've created via the above page, containing just the info I find useful for finding games:AndyGarton wrote: ↑Fri Sep 07, 2018 9:49 amJust a thought - is it worth keeping an up-to-date (ish) index of the disks in the first post of this thread? Not a bad idea. Here's your Excel spreadsheet in .CSV plain-text format in case anyone prefers it:AndyGarton wrote: ↑Fri Sep 07, 2018 9:58 amJust a thought - is it worth keeping an up-to-date (ish) index of the disks in the first post of this thread? Re: 30th Anniversary BBC and Electron Collection
Created in October 2018... here is Games Disc 127.
The disc is called Disc127.dsd so it can be loaded into a Datacentre on a real BBC without having to rename it.
The 18 games on this disc include...
Bismarck (STD) from BBC Soft.
Space Station from Input Magazine (Issue 5).
Model B Crossword 2 (Cassette 10) (STD) from Model B Computing.
The Paras (AKA Skydiver) from Acorn Programs (Vol.6).
Solitaire & Solve from Beebug (7.03).
Battleships from HeadFirst PD.
Bombard (2P) from Games Computing (#1).
Catch from Computer & Video Games.
3-A-Line (2P) from BBC PD (Games #7).
Mars Miner from Games Computing (#13).
Fives & Threes from Acorn Computing (11.05).
Darkness Surrounds (E) from forgotten-grove.
Which-Way? (Golden Games) (2P) from The Micro User.
The Pieman Quins from Musicsoft.
Asteroid Chase from Games Computing (#1).
Multicolour from BBC PD (Games #7).
Maze Run (AKA Maze Chase) from Computer Gamer (#18).
Pairs (Cassette 6) from Model B Computing.
NOTE: Bismarck requires the disc to be write-enabled to save data to the disc in order to work.
Also, Model B Crossword 2 allows you to save your score/position to disc.
Lastly, Darkness Surrounds is an Electron title that has been amended to work on a BBC Micro.
EASTER EGGS: If you press ESCAPE during some of the loaders and instructions, then you can skip to loading the game... This works on Bismarck and Which-Way?
All original filenames have been kept where possible, but some have been changed where they conflict with the limitations of the Disc Filing System. Copy protection routines have been removed.
This disc has also been checked for *KEY related issues and is OK.
Regards,
Mick.
PS. Disc 128 is coming later in the year!

I am just scanning bbcmicro.co.uk to make sure every game on the site matches Mick's latest disc version. Then we shall have a period of calm.....

Bug-Drop (E) from forgotten-grove.
Alien from The Beebon (Issue 3).
Hexagram (2P) (E) from The Electron User (2.11).
Bank Robber from Acorn Programs (Vol.2).
Scramble (C/B) by Richard Broadhurst.
Dodgem from Games Computing (#15).
New York from Big K Magazine (Issue 3).
Super Lander! from Computer & Video Games.
Horace In The Maze from Games Computing (#6).
3-D Roller Ball from 8-Bit Software (Issue 33).
Dominoes from The Micro User (3.03).
Pacman from Computer & Video Games.
NOTE: Bug-Drop and Hexagram are Electron titles that have been amended to work on a BBC Micro.
Lastly, Scramble requires both CTRL and BREAK pressing together to prevent the computer from locking. You can also press ESCAPE to quit this game. Also, due to a minor graphics fault with BeebEm 4.14, Scramble does not work properly. However, it has been modified to detect BeebEm 4.14 and load an alternative version. It works normally with B-em 2.2 and on a real BBC Micro.
EASTER EGGS: If you press ESCAPE during some of the loaders and instructions, then you can skip to loading the game... This works on Draw-Poker only.
All original filenames have been kept where possible, but some have been changed where they conflict with the limitations of the Disc Filing System. Copy protection routines have been removed.
This disc has also been checked for *KEY related issues and is OK.
Regards,
Mick.
PS. Disc 129 is currently being tested and should be out just before Christmas.
Disc 130 has also been completed and is also being tested and should be out at the start of 2019.
I may need to re-post this disc if Tricky changes or adds anything in his Scramble game.

Are they in their original form, as released, or have they had the bbcmicro.co.uk treatment of adding instructions?
