Someone (who's not on here) has asked me for some advice on partitioning a CF card running on what I think is a Watford IDE mini-podule (from a picture, it looks like a later version of this).
Has anyone been able to partition a drive under one of these? Unfortunately, I don't have one although I do have a full size Watford IDE podule in my A440.
One thing I wondered was whether another IDE podule ROM (e.g. ZIDEFS) might be persuaded to work with it?
Thanks,
Rob

Re: Watford IDE podule and partitions
The modern re-makes from IFEL only support one partition.

Re: Watford IDE podule and partitions
Thanks Ian - I strongly suspect that is the card being used.
Re: Watford IDE podule and partitions
Firmware / software is the same for podule and mini (assuming same vintage).
There's a setup utility to set CHS, but as far as I recall no facility for partitions. See the chriswhy software archive for the download, and hope that version plays with the firmware version. If it doesn't, remind me on Friday to dig out what I have (on original WE disks!)
ZIDEFS may do the trick though have a vague thought it was for the Ian Copestake interface - but too long since I've looked to be more than very vague!

Re: Watford IDE podule and partitions
Thanks.
Think I tried ZIDEFS in my full size podule but don't believe it worked. It's probably just a case of hacking some addresses but I don't have the time to look into it at the moment...
