Prestel
Prestel
I was just wondering whether anything remains of the old Prestel (or was it Micronet 800) archive of BBC Micro programs? There were lots of programs and games for BBC Micro on there. Are the files hosted anywhere now, or is it forever consigned to the dustbin of history?
Re: Prestel
Well it was a long shot I guess.....

Give it time - someone will be along with something, surely.

Ach, so much is lost, even from the Internet Age.

Re: Prestel
If you find any,I would be very happy to host them on the Telstar Telesoftware service. It would be great to see some original content up there.
If you've not heard of Telstar, it's Prestel like service written in 2018. Details are at https://glasstty.com.com or search this forum.

Hi,
Rob has a few sets of frames over at https://www.viewdata.org.uk which you should be able to recover files from.
Cheers

A rather belated thanks for the links. Indeed it was the content of Micronet 800 I was looking for. I had a bit of nostalgic fun playing with Telstar using the Telstar program that is supplied with RT Russels BBC Basic on Linux. Sadly beyond a few demos and examples, there seems to be no Micronet 800 software content on viewdata.org.uk. Thanks for the feedback.
