See you tomorrow all being well.

Why do I keep collecting Acorn gear? I'm going to need a considerably bigger man-cave. :?

I've just arrived... I don't see any eight-bit-ers (bitters?) in the bar..

I'm in the dining area bit at the moment - happy to have a drink with anyone if they're about!!
I'm going to ..

Have fun guys. This is the second one I've missed but I should be back next year. In the meantime please take photos so those who can't get can live vicariously through you all  :D

It's all over for another year, great once again to put some faces to new names and play about with all kinds of Acorn and post-Acorn kit!

The 8-bit section is getting bigger every year, I reckon one more push and we'll out-do the RISC OS types next year!

Back! Great to see old and new faces. I didn't take any pictures, I was too busy cleaning up after BeebMaster.

The 8 bit contingent seemed to outnumber the 32bit. Crumbs. :)

It was a great meet up in Wakefield and a very good turnout from the forum.
IMAG0154.jpg
Daniel with his network of machines
We had an Econet going. Daniel connected up his working MDFS server as station 254 and I had a L4 server on an A3020 as station 251 and even connected to an A310 running Arthur. It is years since I used one of those! The demonstration of PANOS running on a BBC micro from the Econet was quirky - I loved Colossal Adventure. 8)

An A310 running Arthur
The FlaxCottage Educational Archive was there as usual, running from the Econet and this time there was a bigger Raspberry Pi presence on the stand.
IMAG0153.jpg
Pi and Master goodness
The Fuze special edition case for the Pi B+ attracted a lot of attention. (I ought to be on commission!  ) This one was demonstrating how simple control can be using RISCOS and BBC BASIC.
IMAG0155.jpg
Fuze Pi case and RISCOS control
Another draw was the prototype of a Raspberry Pi acting as a file storage medium for a BBC Master. The Pi was a retro-Pi, a 256Mb Pi issue 1 running RISCOS pico from a 1GB SD card and linked via a Ciseco Slice of PI/O and a user port cable to the user port on the Master. Commands from the filing ROM on the Master were acted on by the Pi and their results reflected on the Master.

Dave brought his pet electron along with a host of goodies, so many it was enough to make one's eyes water. :D Thanks to Mrs H for the delicious cake. =D> =D>
IMAG0157.jpg

Simon and Jason brought their gaming machines. Case screws? What are those?

Behind the scenes was a wiring geek's nightmare!

How many mains sockets?!!
A great meet. Looking forward now to the ABUG weekend in Halifax.

Can't move the charity stall out of the room, it's my favourite repository of obscure odds-and-sods!

After I cleared all my kit from the room, I left it at the hotel back door underneath the rain shelter and went back to the reception waiting for my lift.

When I went back about 45 mins later, it was all gone. Every single thing! STOLEN!!

Luckily there is a happy ending to the mystery of my mislaid material...

After the hotel staff said they hadn't moved anything, not even for health and safety gone mad reasons, we found out Chris's address and went there. He said that they had noticed all the kit but didn't know who it belonged to, my BeebMaster stickers on everything seemingly not being prominent enough, so they had photographed it all intending to put pictures online, and all the kit had been taken to a member's house for safe keeping...in Leeds!!

Once I knew where everything was, I was able to retrieve it all no trouble, so it's safely back here in Lancashire now!
