Just double-click on it? That works for me (Windows XP/Adobe Reader XI).

Re: getting PDF files off internet (offline reading ?)
Can you add a link to the doc you mean? I did find this one that I could download on my iPad (an iPad is mouse mat with a user selectable image
). But that is version 4.10.

What web browser are you using? What OS?
I know recent versions of Firefox (for example) have built in pdf readers that can be a bit crap....75% of the this pdf prints out wrong errors I get at work are down to that.
If you have acrobat reader installed I believe for firefox you can revert to using that, though by default it doesn't display the toolbar, hit F8 then you will have the toolbar that has the save icon on.
If you can get the full URL of the actual file then you can use a tool like wget to download the file to your local machine. wget is installed by default on most Linux installs and is available for Windows & MacOS too.
Cheers.
Phill.

Re: getting PDF files off internet (offline reading ?)
With each of the document links in the column "Title of Specification", have you tried right clicking on each link and selecting "Save target as" (Internet Explorer) or "Save Link As" (Firefox) instead of double clicking? Then go looking for it in Firfox's downloads (normally your Downloads folder).duikkie wrote:yeah that the one , but online
That will download the whole PDF for you to view off line unless there is something amiss in the configuration of your laptop.

Re: getting PDF files off internet (offline reading ?)

if i now use adobe reader X1 , it loads and stay offline
much faster reading possible if offline.

And you are definitely downloading the whole document first by right-clicking on the link and selecting "Save Link As"? Re: getting PDF files off internet (offline reading ?)
Well I've tried it on both Windows 7 with FireFox and just now on one of my XP machines using FireFox 35.0.1 and Save Link As works just fine. It downloads the whole document which I can read off line using Adobe Reader. If trying to do that your PC insists on going on line then there is something wrong on your PC, possibly it has the file association for ".pdf" screwed up causing it to launch the wrong application.duikkie wrote:i use firefox , but still if i use firefox it goes online, and i have to wait moving from page 1 to 200 and back to page 25 waiting ...... and then it shows

Re: getting PDF files off internet (offline reading ?)
The PDF viewer in Firefox (in the version I have anyway) has a series of icons at the top right of the page. One of these (it looks like page with a down arrow) allows you to download the file and either to save the file or open it in Adobe Reader. Hope this helps.
