Acorn BBC Master 512 Copro 4x Disks

Post by o0Nosferatu0o » Sun Sep 29, 2019 1:26 pm

Hi, i'm looking for the Original or copies of the Master 512 CoPro Disks ( Gem, applications, etc ). These are 5.25 floppy disks.

Or if someone has Gotek's images for use with it. I've a Master 512 with Copro, 2 x 5.25 Viglen disk drives, AMX mouse but no disk's.

Anyone willing to help, i would appreciate it.

Best regards,
Pedro Torres

If you use the system disks from here: http://www.cowsarenotpurple.co.uk/bbcco ... ystem.html on the gotek, rename them as .adf and make sure that you have host = acorn in your ff.cfg file, they *should* work directly.

This doesn't seem to work for me.
I downloaded the "Method 1 Package", m512-sysdisks-1.zip, which contains the following disk images:

Code: Select all

The files in this package are:

    M512_1.IMG Image of the Master 512 DOS boot disk, including
                  DOS-Plus version 2.1 (640kb)

    M512_1.ADL Alternative form of the boot disk with the tracks
                  interleaved. This should be used in place of the file
                  M512_1.IMG by BeebEm and by disk writers which assume
                  that disk tracks alternate between sides. (640kb)

    M512_2.IMG    Image of disk 2 - "GEM Applications" (800kb)

    M512_3.IMG    Image of disk 3 - "GEM data" (800kb)

    M512_4.IMG    Image of disk 4 - "Miscellaneous" (800kb)

    M512_X.IMG Image of an older version of the DOS-Plus boot disk,
                  with DOS-Plus version 1.2a (640kb)

    M512_X.ADL Alternative "interleaved" form of the version 1.2a
                  boot disk (640kb)
Both ADL images will boot and give a directory listing. All the IMG images fail to give a directory listing even when renamed ADF/ADL.

Here is the result of 'dir' on M512_2.ADL:
IMG_20191030_135743-400x400.jpg
IMG_20191030_135743-400x400.jpg (24.1 KiB) Viewed 319 times
Here is my ff.cfg:

Code: Select all

interface= ibmpc
host=acorn
index-suppression=no
nav-mode = default
Am I using the wrong images, is my ff.cfg wrong or something else?

Also, I just downloaded Turbo c, from here :https://winworldpc.com/product/turbo-c/3x, and the disk images there work either as .img or .adf so it looks like I might have the wrong images.

ETA: I downloaded the first disk,512-1-1, from the 8bs archive and it doesn't work.
