PSU for elk data recorder OBTAINED!

Post by mr-macrisc » Tue Aug 06, 2019 10:29 pm

Anyone got an original psu for the elk style data recorder?

Thinking may as well keep it all original if anyone has one they no longer need.

Thanks

This is the unit I always perceive as the Electron cassette player/recorder - an ALF03.........

and this is the associated PSU.....

Well, the 6V at 300mA isn't a problem, however, I've not seen a jack plug like that before!

The one in the pic does look to be an unusual form but just checked my AL03 deck (I don’t have a stock PSU either) and it is actually just a standard 3.5mm OD 2-pole audio-style jack.

Ah! That's good news. Should be able to knock one up. However, like you I'm off on another holiday next week and have so much to catch-up on.

I'll see if I can remember to look at this when I get back.

While on this subject . . . Does anyone have a spare ALF03? I sent mine over to Myelin for the UEU project - well worth it :D

/\ only got one too Dave.
that's the original PSU that I have that Martin has posted pic.

Doubt not many about as bet lost when separated from ALF03 in the loft!

The player can run off battery's as well, & can confirm it works fine for play or record 8)

That will be an unregulated, but smoothed DC PSU then.

So any 6v dc psi with at least 300 mA and stick a mono 3.5mm Jack on for power?

Sounds doable if can find a suitable wee psu.

Unless of course anyone has a dead alf03 and still has pay?
