Forum rules
You're welcome to trade Acorn-related stuff with other forum members here - the rule of thumb to follow when trading, is that items or services offered should be of interest to our Acorn community. Do NOT use multiple accounts - please trade with your regular (and only) forum account. If you're giving items away, please make it clear if you would be unhappy with the recipient selling on some or all of the items. Similarly, please ensure that the giver is comfortable with you re-selling items you have accepted as a gift. We cannot be held responsible for what happens in these trading forums or for deals done via PM. This must be done at your own risk. If you aren't comfortable with this - make the trade via an alternative site which can apply safeguards of their own. Be sensible - if someone approaches you to trade via PM who is not posting in the public forums, this may be a sign that they are not entirely what they seem. Please report it to the moderators if you receive an unsolicited message from anyone suspicious, so that it can be investigated and hopefully stop anyone being taken advantage of.

This looks like a new listing on EBay. Perhaps will work for you?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334212785310 ... SwTDVhirZv

Or perhaps this as an alternative:

This will do you just fine - here.

Unless, of course you want a real one at almost the cost of an Electron?

I've been using a Hornby/Scalextric power supply successfully with my Electron. I felt this was a better option than a no-name brand from ebay or vintage Acorn psu.

Power Adaptors UK do have a reasonable reputation! I've not and any difficulty or product issues using them for Power Packs - or heard of any problems!

Good to know, thanks Dave.
I'd been nervous of buying from unknown (to me) sources.

Here's one that I was recommended, and have had no issues with:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402605575267

It's a bit more expensive than the one Dave recommends, but it has a higher output current rating and has a normal mains plug, which won't crowd your 4 way extensions. The eBay seller has 270k ratings and averages 99.5% positive.

I'm using a psu from an Intel NUC - 19V output, however I had to get an 2.1mm/2.5mm adaptor as the original plug was the wrong size.

Also worth thinking about one of these inline switches:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174685365392

(Not bought one of these specifically myself, but have a similar one)

Helps wear and tear on the socket

Also worth searching the forums about this subject. Then you may find a post that gives some details on what PSUs can be used to power an Electron, like this post ;-)
