Wanted: ZIF socket for Beeb ashtray

Post by SimonSideburns » Sat Jul 06, 2019 7:13 pm

Hi

I've got a box of EPROMS (that I brought along to ABUG in Cambridge) that I ought to go through and archive, but I don't fancy leaving the lid off the machine and continually pushing in and prising out the packages as I don't want to put too much strain on the main board or the ROM board.

I'm in Hampshire, UK so prefer someone local or happy to post one to me.

Does anyone have one of those ashtray ZIF socket systems that they are not using and would be willing to part with? Or, is it possible to make one up somehow? What components would I need? Has anyone made one up previously?

Thanks in advance.

I don't see it on the RetroClinic website or on ebay, so I've asked in the post that Mark used to announce them way back.

Hopefully I'll get a reply and fingers crossed he still has them.

Thanks for providing the link. Much appreciated.
