Re: FS: SLOGGER PEGASUS Electron Disk Interfaces *NEW*
I thought I'd post this here, as I wasn't sure where else would be relevant . . .
Rummaging through some more of Dave Moore's (Arcadian) BOXES, that he's entrusted to me, I found some part built Slogger Pegasus boards - 7 in total.
5 of them are issue A boards e.g. the same as the ones in this thread - but different in that they don't have 'curly' tracks and have one extra jumper (I'll see where its connected too later). See photos below.
2 of them are issue B boards
Not noticed these before. No 'curly' tracks, again, and more extra jumpers. Some work to do here to see what they're for

Re: FS: SLOGGER PEGASUS Electron Disk Interfaces *NEW*
Here's an annotated schematic (courtesy of Prime) showing the added features of Pegasus board Issue B.
The quality is just good enough to see the details.
Dave H
Edit: The position of the RAM has also changed to the left hand socket (IC3) - so there may be another schematic change.
Edit: The DFS is now fitted in IC2

Re: FS: SLOGGER PEGASUS Electron Disk Interfaces *NEW*
While at the recent Leicester ABUG I collected some bits and pieces for the Slogger Pegasus Disc Interfaces from Alex. I can now report that I have PCBs to make-up 21 of these. 2 of which are ready, 1 spoken for . . . I should have enough parts by mid next week to build-up the rest.
If anyone is still wanting one (?) just PM me. I haven't, as yet, got a final price! (Will publish here when I have.) For Forum members I'll do kits or built - with or without a full-metal-jacket in the form of a Acorn colour matched case
I should also have, by then, a reprint of the Slogger Pegasus 400 User Guide, including the Installation Instructions.
Just in time for your Christmas stocking . . .

Re: FS: SLOGGER PEGASUS Electron Disk Interfaces *NEW*
I changed the links, on the Pegasus PCB to have the DFS ROM physically next to the RAM and to ensure it was in the cartridge socket's highest slot number. The main reason was the latter to ensure that DFS came up as default if you also had ADFS in place. But it doesn't!!! Anyone know why it wouldn't be the default filing system, despite being in a higher socket # than ADFS???

Re: FS: SLOGGER PEGASUS Electron Disk Interfaces *NEW*
Just going through the Pegasus 400 User Guide and would like to query the following:
This:
&07 Number of sectors referenced by the catalogue (18
low order bits of 10 bit number.
doesn't look correct!
Dave H
Code: Select all
Second sector
Bytes
&00 - &03 Last four bytes of disk TITLE
&04 Cycle number
&05 Number of filenames in the catalogue (x 8)
&06 Bits 0,1 Number of sectors referenced by the
catalogue (2 high order bits of 10 bit
number).
Bits 4,5 Start up option (BOOT)
&07 Number of sectors referenced by the catalogue (18
low order bits of 10 bit number).
&07 Number of sectors referenced by the catalogue (18
low order bits of 10 bit number.

Re: FS: SLOGGER PEGASUS Electron Disk Interfaces *NEW*
You are correct to query it, should say the 8 LSB's...

Re: FS: SLOGGER PEGASUS Electron Disk Interfaces *NEW*
I saw that and have been having having a play with various disc interfaces and rom configs - I'll report back tonight but don't know yet if it'll be an answer!
Re: FS: SLOGGER PEGASUS Electron Disk Interfaces *NEW*
Dave - could you post an image of the ADFS rom you are using please? I've got plenty of the Peg 400 DFS roms but my only Elk ADFS rom has just died for some reason
so I need to blow another. If you could post a suitable image it would save me ferreting around for the right one....

Re: FS: SLOGGER PEGASUS Electron Disk Interfaces *NEW*
look on the bright side Martin, it's done you (& all elk users) a favour doing that itself

Re: FS: SLOGGER PEGASUS Electron Disk Interfaces *NEW*
Ha ha! That was my first thought Col but then I remembered I'd said I'd have a look at Dave's query so I'll have to blow another.....
(...and he's sent me an image offline btw so thanks Dave!

Is it still possible to buy a built one without case?
Cheers!

Hi Dave.
Was wondering if you still have any boards/kits available? I am unable to PM you, presumably as I am a new user to this forum (been lurking for a couple of months but only registered today). Yeah, I should have registered a long time ago... Maybe you can PM me?
Been refurbishing my Beebs (incl new PSU caps) and have dusted off my electron and interface 1.
I do have spare WD1770 chips etc. so if you only have a board then that is still of use to me.
Regards
Grant
(aka zx80nut or other forums, in case you have bumped into me elsewhere

I've activated your PMs now - it normally waits for 25 posts, but we know who you are sobeeboldie wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 2:34 pmWas wondering if you still have any boards/kits available? Re: FS: SLOGGER PEGASUS Electron Disk Interfaces *NEW*
Dave,
I'm mostly a lurker on here, but I've just bought one of your Tube interfaces (I pinged you on ebay to see if it was Slogger RBP compatible)
Do you still have any of these left? I'd quite like to use it with a Gotek, to recreate a couple of projects I did in the 80s that used a primitive form of virtual memory.

Would there be a kit, no case left? Just got all my Acorn stuff back to Canada and I'm excited to start expanding it.
