More from the attic . . . Sinclair ZX Spectrum +

Post by daveejhitchins » Wed Oct 16, 2019 3:32 pm

This came with a collect-only bundle (along with a Commodore 64 > Later!).

The main unit works e.g. It produces a screen on a TV and all the keys seem to work. Nothing else has been tested.

Does £30 plus P&P seem reasonable?

What are you using to hook the C64 up to that display?
I’ve made an s-video lead, but it’s still not brilliant on modern screens.

I have a composite SCART from Retro Computer Shack on eBay. It cost about £7 with p&p.

This monitor does not support s-video sadly.

The picture is actually a lot better than the photo looks with no jail bars or need for a lumafix. I believe the quality of output is a bit luck of the draw though.

Just to let you know Dave that I finally got round to testing the Spectrum+ yesterday and all is still well (including a new PSU, a composite video mod and SD card reader). The interface I'm using also has a joystick port so that's next on the list of things to test.

This will nicely complement the collection, so many thanks again.
