FS: 8-bit IDE podules (A3010/A3020/A4000/A3000) - SOLD OUT
8-bit IDE V3c, This fits vertically within a A3000/A30x0/A4000, The podule connector pins are now fitted on the other side of the board compared to the original batch, so they should fit in an A3020 or A4000 with an Econet card. Optionally supplied with a pre-formatted 512MB (~480MB usable) DOM.
I don't own an A3010 or A3020, so haven't had chance to fit this board myself, but from previous sales, it's reported that they fit OK. The A4000+DOM is a close fit, the DOM and the main board fit either side of the audio hybrid, so be careful when fitting.
Your machine needs to be running RISC OS 3 or later.
Please send a Private message (PM) if you can, no need to fill up this thread with requests. Please provide a postal address, so I can work out the postage.
I'll update the title when I run out.
Podule only £20. Add £5 for a formatted 512MB Disk Module (DOM). Postage at cost. 2020-09-16 All gone.

These are no longer for sale.
Re: FS: 8-bit IDE podules - SOLD OUT
I received my IDE podule from IanS - needless to say installation was a breeze thanks to the included instructions
Just in case anyone else is wondering, this is the orientation for the A3000 - I had to bend the 0V connector on my mobo to make it all fit

The podule works perfect, thanks again IanS!!!!

Re: FS: 8-bit IDE podules - SOLD OUT
This is correct, but I hoped that would be clear from the instruction sheet included with the board.
The instruction sheet included states that the components should be facing the keyboard, so maybe the instructions are not quite clear enough.
As to bending the power connections, please don't do this unless absolutely necessary. As stated in the castle instructions http://chrisacorns.computinghistory.org ... nstall.pdf
CAUTION: Earlier A3000 PCBs have a trace that passes
directly under each terminal. In these machines GREAT
CARE must be exercised to bend the terminal about 3mm
above the PCB, rather than at the PCB, otherwise the terminal
will short to the trace, preventing the computer from booting
correctly.

Re: FS: 8-bit IDE podules
I'm interested in buying one (given up on trying to use my existing IDE podule for anything other than the mechanical drive). Don't think I can PM yet, so if you still have any available can you send me your email please? I usually reply within a few hours! Thanks.

Hi Ian,
Just to give you a bit of feedback. The podule arrived next day. She worked out of the packet as per the instructions. Many thanks. The software on the DOM was a welcome bonus and I've been able to install Acorn C and get some programs building.
Excellent all around. Thoroughly recommended.
Regards,
BW.

Hi Ian,
I’ll take one of the 8 bit podules with a Dom for my a3000. If it’s okay with you, I’ll pick it up and pay for it at abug in January.

Hi Ian, I’d love one of these for my a3010. I know it says to PM you but I can’t until I have posted 25 messages and I don’t want to make unnecessary posts
.
Would you be able to PM me and we can take it from there if you have some left still? Cheers!
