FOR SALE: 8 & 16 bit IDE Podules - SOLD OUT

Post by IanS » Wed Feb 06, 2019 7:45 pm

8-bit IDE V3b, This fits vertically within a A3000/A30x0/A4000, They should fit in an A3020 or A4000 with an Econet/Network card. They come supplied with a pre-formatted 512MB (~480MB usable) DOM.
I don't own an A3010 or A3020, so haven't had chance to fit this board, but they should be OK. The A4000+DOM is a close fit, the DOM and the main board fit either side of the audio hybrid, so be careful when fitting.

16-bit IDE V1b, these will fit into the backplane of any machine with a full-size podule bus. (e.g. A3x0/A4x0/A540/A5000/A7000/RPC). They have a 40-pin IDE connector with power supplied to pin 20 for powering DOM's. They will also work (or at least they do for me) in an A305/A310 without a backplane.
If fitted into a machine without a backplane, the jumper link on JP3 must be removed, and the +5v red cable from the power supply connected to J4. A right-angle connector is fitted to the card, so if you want to fit it to a machine without a backplane, you will probably need to use a cable (or use it with the lid off).
Cards will NOT fit in A4xx/1 machines without a backplane, as the motherboard connector is a different orientation. (I think they should fit in an A4xx, not /1, they do work in my R140, but these machines all came with backplanes fitted as standard)

Postage/Packaging will be at cost. PM for details.

Well that came as a surprise, no interest at all so far. Are people waiting for Dave's Baildon recreations?

I've added to the original listing, I now have some more 16-bit cards available. See the first post in the thread for details.

I was planning another batch, but I've now put that on hold.

Hi,

I'd like two 16 bit podules with CF adaptors and cards, for personal use, if that's not being too greedy? Not sure I have sufficient permissions to PM you for postage costs though - I'm a reader, rather than a writer!

If that is too greedy, please put me down for just the one 16bit podule with CF adaptor and card, if possible, please?

I'd love one for my A310, including 2gb card. How much would postage cost to Perth, Australia?

Thanks - Steve

Just wanted to say a public thank you to Ian for providing one of his IDE podules for my A3010. Received today and working great. Attached some pics to show it successfully fitted without issue. It's been a LONG time coming but can now enjoy the benefits of an internal drive. :D

Hi,

If the 8bit podule is available, I'll take it off your hands.

Cheers,
Mike.

Again, I think wating a week for a reply is long enough. Anyone else want a 16-bit card?

Am I being unreasonable expecting people to respond within a week?

Ian, I'd like two boards, please. No rush, however, so leave me for another batch if you're short now.

I've now got the 8bit mini podule working in my A3020. The A3020 and A4000 motherboards look very similar in that area - just had to bend one of the three caps a little.

And once I tried power cycling rather than restarting the icon appeared.

Many thanks! :D

@ians

If you are going to do another run of the 16bit cards with the green PCB. I will take one; it’s for a A410/1 (has backplane).

Thank you
David
