The alternative, of course, is to stick such stuff in a library directory, possibly even the library directory.

Back at school, we had the original Solidisk sideways RAM boards, which accepted all writes to &8000-BFFF regardless of which bank was selected. This meant that if you gave a ROM image &8000 as load address and &D9CD as execution address, *imagename would load it and hit break, which was kinda handy.

Also, don't forget that there's the BOOT user, where shift+break does a *I AM BOOT. Back in the day, most sites offered a menu with a variety of useful stuff. Installing ANFS in sideways RAM is a good candidate for including in BOOT's menu.

Thanks Matt - I didn't waste anytime installing Econet

Quick question though:

Is there any way to test its all working? I haven't yet made the clock and therefore I'm not connected to anything?

I've installed the NFS ROM and I can issue a *NET successfully Are there other tests I can do at this stage?

Thanks,

Darren

Spot on, that is the only test I know of without a clock or other station. I’m impressed how quickly you got the job done!

Well, for what it's worth it's also now telling you your station number, so you can check you've soldered down those components right. (-8

Well I started soldering about 10 mins after the package arrived this morning!

I have all the components for a clock, just need to sort out the best way to program the firmware....
