I guess the more people you get the lower the price and then ever more people and ever less price and more people .....

Has anyone dropped Mark @ Retroclinic a mail? I should think if anyone want to buy quite a few drives it would be him, and that would bring the price down for all of us as well.

If anyone is looking for a case and PSU for one of these I may be able to help. I recently happened across an untested Opus Challenger 3 which I obviously hoped would work! The RAM discs work fine based on some basic tests - loading and saving to them (it's a 512K version) but the disc drive just makes a whirring noise and does nothing.
On the assumption you can put one of these new drives in the Opus (I can't see why not - the Opus drive is a double sided double density disc drive) then it may be of value to someone? Not only a cool case (in reasonably good condition - I can add photos) but you also get the bonus of 2 time 256k ram discs and Page still set to &E00 as Opus dos on these uses a tiny amount of the RAM disc for its workspace.
If anyone is interested PM me. I paid £39 for it and would be happy to send it on at that plus p&p (not sure how heavy it is and therefore how much that would be).
I also have an original Opus Challenger 3 box I can put it in. It's not brilliant but may add some value to a collector of such things?

Alway nice to resurrect an old thread :)

A large part of the price I originally came up with was to cover the bulk shipping to me
and I've been holding off putting these on the webshop whilst I came up with an alternative.
I now have a way of getting these to me at much lower cost so I'm going to put these up
on the shop as soon as I've worked out the new cost. I expect them to come down in price
by about £10 from 60 to 50 (excl UK postage). This assume the supplier will still give me
the same bulk discount we agreed on, he may not.

Can I have a "show of hands" to see who else would like one?
I'm not sure how many more I can carriage but I'd like to get
these to people who would like them.

There were no more hands shown so I completed the order.
These will get posted out on Saturday.
If there's enough interest then I might do another batch in a few months time.

Waiting for batch 2:

VincentVega (x2)
lcww1 (x1)
alienkidmj12 (x1)
Bagpuss (2)
cervaro (2)

As I'm sure the people who have received these will vouch for, these are brand new,
unopened in the antistatic bag and appear to have been stored correctly. However,
please remember that they were manufactured in 1982 and I can't say how long they
will operate for.

Received mine on Thursday. I can vouch that they are indeed in unopened antistatic bags. Not yet got around to opening said bags yet...

Thanks Jason =D>

I'd definitely be interested in 2x drives if you do another order.
