BBC / ELK Dual Digital Joystick Adapter

Post by Bryce » Wed Oct 07, 2015 8:33 am

Hi all,
I've made a small batch of Digital joystick adapters due to a request over on Amibay. They are nothing fancy, just the well known transistor solution as published many years ago, however I've made it completely self-contained and in SMD to make it smaller and more practical. It works on any BBC or an ELK with Plus 1. If anyone is interested in one, just send me a PM. They cost €31 (including postage worlwide). You can see what it looks like below. Some users here already have one, should you want some user feedback first.

Hi all,
as I have 3 or 4 new requests for these, I'll be running another batch of 10, so if you're looking to get one, now is the time to let me know.

The latest batch have now all been sold. If anyone is still looking for one, then state your interest here or send me a PM and if I get enough names (10+) I'll get more PCBs produced.

Hi all,
I've just ordered PCBs for another small batch of these, so if you are interested in having one, now is a good time to say so.

This is probably a really silly question, but;
Games that support analogue joysticks can now be played with a digital j/s?

If so, can you put me down for one? :D

Cheers

Correct.

I've added your name to the list. I'll let you know when they are built (probably late next week).

What's a Zipstick? Do you have a link to it (a real link, not Facebook).

I beleive he has bought, just popped over to Facebook, a quickshot looking joystick which has a BBC Analgue connector on it.

Mine are the normal Atari type with 9 way D-sockets. These also have an auto-fire switch.

@kppot, we prefer that for normal photos and pictures, that you use the forums attachment facilities (unless you have lots of large high resolution photos, in which case it's better to link to a photo sharing site).

My apologies will use internal forum facilities for pics.
Yes, the upper one is a picture of very mine Zipstick. I made another pic, here it is

It has BBC compatible plug, not those Atari-Commodore 9 pin like

You can always search teh 8bit 'complete' hardware list below in my signature when looking for stuff. :)

Much easier, or it is meant to be.

I have exactly 1 piece left for sale, so I would suggest you contact me via PM soon. This device has been "ordered" by three different people in the last few weeks, but none of them replied to any further contact since then, so it's still available. I will now reserve it for you for the next 7 days.

Bryce, I would if I could write PMs. It says, I did not post enough here on this forum. Well, this is my second post. At the moment I can't write PMs. Let's try if you could write a PM to me first. Maybe I can answer your PM. Thanks.

As an aside are you planning to make any more or is that it? If you arent going to do any more I can set the 'active' flag (or whatever I called it) in hardware list to 'N'
