Very nice, bit pricey though. Do you think they'll take a tenner for the cartridges?

Wow - I wonder if that's the one they used for the Music For The Masses album? (1987)

You can see it in this French interview (the album was recorded in Paris) around the 1 minute in:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9bXkRnBeE0

I always assumed it was the studio's computer, but it seems not.

Just looks like a SCSI drive in a box. Nothing very BBC about it. You can see a SCSI terminator plugged in the back.

Probably used with a Cumana SCSI podule on an Archimedes.

A collection of 5.25" floppy discs used on an A3000? At least that's what it seems to be.

Yeah I was wondering about those. I suppose it's *possible*, but unusual.

I had my BBC 5.25 on my A420/1 and used them quite extensively for a while rather than buy new 3.5 disks

Pretty positive if you took a close look you’d be able to find some software in there that isn’t GPL and where the original creator still retains the copyright!

(Although I am in no way a lawyer or a software licensing expert!)

It looks like they're trying to sell the TOSEC collection, which is freely available to download anyway. Whatever the source it's still trying to profit from other peoples work.

Somebody in the retro community will figure out who this fixitOS character is eventually. Unless he is trading as a company, Paypal should also have his name which is usually displayed in any transactions ...

Anyone with a spare couple of quid want to make a test purchase and see what info you can glean?

Didn't eBay ban the sale of internet download links a few years back, so that all sales had to involve transfer of a physical item? Unless they lifted that restriction, this ad would likely be against their T&Cs.

eBay policy on digitally delivered goods:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/pr ... cy?id=4289

You can distribute if you have IP rights (this guy does not) but you must send physical media. He's put this disclaimer that it's all shareware / freeware / GPL but of course it is none of that. Just because you can download it freely does not make it free of copyright.

If you want to report it you might use the following:
  • Report category: Listing Practices
  • Reason for report: Other listing practices policy violations
  • Detailed reason: Digitally delivered goods
That's what I did, anyway..

Someone in York is selling a Master 512 (currently collection only, but says they would consider posting except the monitor).
