Weekday 'Virtual' Acorn session #5, Tuesday 30th June 2020, 6pm - 10pm

Post by sydney » Fri Jun 26, 2020 12:20 pm

It's time for the next weekday evening meeting so please respond in this thread if you are interested in attending. 6pm - 10pm is the running time but it is possible we will go past this.
The evening meets are less structured and have tended to be quite social whilst still being mainly about Acorn and technology in general.

This next bit is important.

If there is something you'd like to talk about let me know in this thread and I'll make sure time is set aside for discussing your topic.

Also, if you suddenly remember something you like to talk about during the meeting and you don't want to interrupt the current discussion please message me using the zoom chat and let me know and I'll move the discussion on at an appropriate time.

If there are no topics then the evening will be pretty much just a social gathering of Acorn geeks, which many would agree is no bad thing.

I'll be there, moderating. I'd also like to discuss the comentary for a couple of copro videos and possibly demonstrate/ ask questions about the vertical rupture technique I'm hoping to use in a game I'm about to start writing.

You can add my name also on the list. I can give a first preview of the new Elk Wifi boards that I received today. I'll start my first tests tomorrow. Won't take long, about 10-15 minutes maximum.

I'm in! Nothing specific to bring, but I'll join in any discussion about demonstrating the benefits and capabilities of co-processors. Oh, and if anyone's interested in a recent resurrection of the Beeb816 project.

Our (recently expanded-) family routine has settled down a bit, so I'm hopeful I'll be able to make the second half of the meet. Assuming the kids all co-operate and go to sleep promptly. (Eldest had better do so: it's her first day back at school on Wednesday!)

I didn't know if I'd be near a Zoom-able computer, but I am, so add me to the list.

I could demo the latest update to PDP11 BASIC. :)

Great session, everyone! Thanks for organising and running it, Simon. The collection of a handful of talking points beforehand really helped, I think, to fit in a good deal of technical content in the first part of the session. I ducked out about 9 to watch the SpaceX launch, and things had gone decidedly open-ended by the time I got back.
