Games Computing magazine is quite uncommon.
The missing issues are:

March 84 - found, and in the process of being scanned.
April 84 - found, and in the process of being scanned.
May 84 - found, and in the process of being scanned.
July 84
September 84
December 84
February 85

Thanks for looking under the bed.....

Lee.

Hi,
Does anyone have any "COMPUTING TODAY" magazines from 1984 or 1985? (I don't need Jan, Mar, or Jun 84)

Does anyone have "PERSONAL COMPUTING TODAY" magazines OCT 82 or DEC 82?, or any from 1983 (I don't need January) or any from 1984 (I don't need Jan or Jun), or any from 1985 (I don't need Feb).

Thanks!

Lee.

Cheers Dave,
I specifically am looking to see if they printed any corrections to "Labyrinth" from Issue 1.
Thanks

Thanks, but I believe Lee has already seen those corrections — they’re from another issue.

What we’re specifically after are any corrections that were printed in issue 3.

(Correct me if I’m wrong, Lee..!)

The 3D part of the game seems to work, but I can't seem to look at the 2D representation of the map, and make sennse of it in the 3D world.

Ah sorry you're right, the corrections I posted were from Issue 2.

Have just checked Issues 3 and 5 have no Labyrinth corrections featured. Issue 4 has five corrections which I believe you're aware of.

Nothing in issues 5-8 either.

Yes but can you actually navigate through the maze and find the exit?

Does the 2D map actually correspond to the 3D maze?

Can anyone explain the 2D map? Which is supposed to be the start? And the exit?
I can't translate what I see to the 3D map (even though I can navigate the 3D map)...

Hi,
Does anyone have "Popular Computing Weekly" volume 5, issues 34, 35, and 36?
(21st August 86, 28th August 86 and 4th September 86)
If so, could you take photos of the game listings for any BBC/Electron games please.

The centre for computing history have these issues, so if anyone does any voluntary work down there, it would be great if you could get the scans/photos from there...

There should be the first and second parts of "Mushroom Mania" by Jonathan Temple (issue 36 and maybe 35 as well)
And, the final part of "Space War" by Mark Gidley (issue 34)
There could also be other listings...

Thanks!

Lee.

**EDIT - magazines found and games typed in 8)

Hi,
Does anyone have the book "The Giant Book Of Arcade Games for your BBC Micro"?
I am aware of a scan on the net but I think there are a couple of mistakes in it.
If anyone has it, it is a photo of the listing for "Minefield" that I need at this stage.
Thank you,

Lee.

I have "The giant book of games" (Not arcade). The listing is across 5 pages. P119-123.

I will do a scan later if this is the listing you want.

Hi Paul,
Yes that is the book.
8bs had the title wrong.
I will alter it on bbcmicro.co.uk now...
A scan, or some decent photos of that listing would be great :D
Thanks
Lee.

The scans are rather unnecessarily large, so I put them on google drive

So what is the thing with line 270? Looks like it was corrected by hand before the book was printed!

Thanks Paul
Frustratingly, the original looks the same as the OCR I have been using.
Lines 330/340 and 270 are clearly wrong.
270 should have L instead of L% and the < should be a >

Lee, I have been given a box file stuffed with BBC listings cut out from various multi-format magazines. I haven't yet had the time to go through it, but here are a couple of examples of games that are missing from bbcmicro.co.uk:

World War I by Colin Pinder, Practical Computing November 1983 pp 186-190.
Ye Olde Castle by Simon Pithers, Popular Computing Weekly 26 April - 2 May 1984 pp 10-11.

Hi Lee. I'll scan it today. There may well be others as this box file is stuffed with pages.

Just for you, Lee, the cataloguing of the listings (not the articles/reviews) is underway. My aim is pre-Christmas! When it's done I'll post a new thread and offer scanning on demand to anyone interested - no point in scanning stuff already archived elsewhere.
