Missing Beebug Games

Post by leenew » Wed Dec 13, 2017 1:49 pm

Hi
Does anyone have the following Beebug games?
They are all from the first 9 issues of Beebug that didn't have an accompanying cassette.
If no-one has them, could anyone Scan/OCR any of them?

Volume 1:

1-2 Bomber

1-3 Maze-Trap

1-4 Chunky Invaders

1-5 Higher/Lower

1-5 Hangman

1-6 Aliens

1-8 Breakout

1-9 Five Dice

Also missing (but never listed in the magazine) are Rat Splat from "Games 3" and "Solitaire/Knockout" double-game-cassette from around 1984.
Any help would be appreciated.

Lee.

All main issues of beebug are scanned and the versions at https://retropdfs.wordpress.com/ (torrent) have ocr'ed text that is not perfect but you won't need to fix all that much.

ooops, my mistake. I placed it incorrectly under downloads from torrent (which would mean retropdf and those all have ocr'd text) but it was 8bs. Hmm, I did get some highscore list from those so I guess I ocr'd them myself from the pdfs.

Just a note to say that some of these early BEEBUG games had mistakes in the listings, so if you're going to go the OCR route, be aware that you might need to check later issues for corrections -- I know this happened quite a few times with the earlier type-ins.

At one point I had several of these games on tape, but my sister taped over them with radio shows. (Yes, I'm still angry about it, nearly three decades later).

I have all of these issues and can scan them (well, the games anyway) if no one has the programs already.

I don’t have any OCR software but am sure someone else can take the scans and do that?

Hi all, I'm the maintainer of RetroPDFs. If you try searching for BEEBUG again, they should be there now :)

I have typed in all the missing Beebug games.
They will appear on bbcmicro.co.uk shortly. (via Mick's discs).
