Is there an easy way to join/merge UEF tapes without re-recording from source?

don't think so, as the start of the file must tell it it's length etc, so can't just use DOS to do file3=file1+file2 (can't mind exactly, but something on those lines...)

if you still have the original .WAV files, just join them together in your fav music proggy, then re-run that through MakeUef/Am /CSW

Direct to UEF so no WAV files. Shame as I can often get a tape to go direct to UEF without mucking about with WAV but multi-part tapes might not get all in one go.

If there was a way to join UEF I could pretty much not bother with WAV. I guessing just because most of my tapes are in pretty good condition.

In this particular case I can just transfer to disc as they are just demo programs.

But I do have one other I will have to go the WAV route.

Assuming the UEFs contain standard format files with simple filenames, using David Boddie's Python scripts ...

1. Use UEF2INF to extract all files to INF format
2. Rebuild the UEF as required using INF2UEF.

well, you could put all files to disc, then use BeebEm414 to save them back to .UEF in any order you wish.

Will give that a go for one I have left to do. Thanks

Yes that was what I was going to try for one I have in bits that isn't protected or doing weird things with memory.

The other I will give Arcadian idea a good, if that fails I will have to go down the WAV route, having only one left I was hoping to jut stick with direct to UEF.

Thanks

Not that I doubted you but it worked!

I now have a single UEF.

Took me a little while to work out the index.txt file to put them in the right order, seemed to default to desc alpha on the direcotry, which isnt that logical.

Also "-c" flag didnt seem to work, so hardcoded compress-1 in the python code.

Tested all the progra and loaded on BeebEM.

That has saved me loads of effort. Thanks.
