Announcing a new simple web-based BASIC editor today to coincide with the beeb's 39th birthday.
It embeds the JSbeeb emulator and links to a gallery of a 1000 BBC BASIC programs people have been tweeting to the bbcmicrobot Twitter bot.
This is intended for creative retro code golf more than large projects, but should be a lot of fun!
You can try owlet here - https://www.bbcmicrobot.com
This was built by Matt Godbolt and myself.
Cheers
Dom

This looks really neat, actually.
I'd contribute something but my creativity is lacking

I've played with this a bit now, and it's great.
Being able to save revisions of your work might be useful. (I do realise that if you go too far down this road the appropriate retort just becomes "use a local editor instead, then".)

Thanks everyone

You can hit 'share' and copy program as a URL and save that... but yeah it's an idea...Diminished wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 3:50 pmI've played with this a bit now, and it's great.

Just a note that the emulator in the Owlet editor is now interactive - just click in the window! This is the ONLY way I ever want to write BASIC from now on.
