Risc OS RPI GPIO using BASIC

Post by pixelblip » Thu Mar 29, 2018 11:48 am

Hi there
This is a long shot.
Is it possible to program the Raspberry pi GPIO pins in BBC Basic on Risc OS at all?

It would make life much easier.

I am trying to fiddle around with it on Raspbian but Python is not my forte......it would be much nicer in BBC Basic ........I was mucking around with LED Matrix's

Thanks

Thanks

REPEAT

SYS "GPIO_WriteData" ,17,0
UNTIL FALSE

Yes, Tank's GPIO module is the one to go for. You have that.

Other ways to go include 'bare metal' programming of the GPIO pins in Assembler or to use BBC Basic in Linux which include easy access to the GPIO pins.

You should come along to the ROUGOL meeting on Monday 21st May, as our guest speaker will be Andrew Conroy who is bringing along a selection of his Raspberry Pi projects, all controlled using GPIO from BBC BASIC.
