private messages

Post by fuzzel » Fri Dec 15, 2017 10:07 am

I have a question regarding private messages.
If you have items in your outbox does this mean that they haven't been sent or that they haven't been read ?

What if you delete a message that is in the outbox. Can the recipient still read it then or is it also deleted from the inbox of the recipient?

Now that I don't know. So I have just sent you a PM. Then deleted it from my outbox...
So see if you get it...

You are not able to read this message because it was removed by the author.
So it's "no" :D

You've just reminded me that I somehow failed to disable private messages and enable email on this forum. Not sure how this one escaped. The "new" world of spectrum forum removed that ability entirely which still infuriates me.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but the "new" World of Spectrum forum site sucks.

Have an upvote from me. :) I got to the point where WOSF allowed me to verify that my user name existed, allowed me to reset the password, but refused to let me log on, and refused to let me post a query to the administrators. I had to create another user with another email address (I think I called it jgh_temporary) so I could post in an OffTopic forum and appeal for help.

Kind of - on another forum I have an outbox message from Feb 2009. The odd thing is, the recipient has definitely logged in and used the forum since then. Perhaps they just know they don't want to hear from me.
