Notifications....

Post by Prime » Sat Aug 24, 2019 10:05 pm

Hi all,

Had a notification of a PM in my email, clicked on link, and it took me to a page for the PM that said....

"Information

You are not authorised to read private messages that are on hold."

Well in that case why the notification, if I can't read the PM yet perhaps the forum should not be notifying me till I can.
It is of course possible that poster sent the PM, and so I got a notification and then put it on hold.

Cheers.

Phill.

Daniel may be better able to solve this than me but after a very quick google my first question is: Is your inbox full?

Yes, it sounds like your PM inbox is full, so this is the forum software’s way of saying, sorry, you have a new message, but I’m not letting you read it until you have tidied up your inbox...

Yes, you have to empty your inbox and release the on-hold messages.

You're lucky you get the emails. I have been sent PMs before with no sign of any emails, despite the option being ticked in the preferences. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.
