INSTRUCTIONS

"An entertaining and amusing arcade game with nine levels. Baby wants to play with his toys but Mummy wants him in bed. Baby has other ideas, and is very resourceful..."

BABY wants to play with his toys but Mummy wants him in bed. Baby must try to collect as many toys as possible before Mummy catches him. He distracts her with his whoopsies, though he must beware the patrolling potties!

You are Baby. Every toy you collect gains 200 points. You have three whoopsies on each level, plus any left over from the last level. When you run out of them you're sure to get caught. You have three lives.

BONUSES at 50,000 and 100,000 points.
BEWARE the patrolling potties. You lose a whoopsy every time you touch one.
IMPORTANT: NOTHING can affect you while a whoopsy is on the screen.

Please note that it has come to our notice that, on some Electrons, the game freezes after level 1, if all your lives were lost. In these cases until you are more proficient at the game, keep the music option turned on and the game will play normally.

Game Controls
Z - Left, X - Right, : - Up, / - Down, <SPACE> - Whoopsy
S - Music On/Off, J - Joystick On/Off, C - Change Keys, 1-9 - Level Change

Don't step in the whoopsy...game on.........tx.......the mgmt...:-)

======================================================================================
SCORING
 Points will be awarded using the following formula.
 points = (YS / BS * 50) + ((NOP - YP + 1) * (50 / NOP))
 YS = Your Score
 BS = Best Score
 NOP = Number of Players
 YP = Your Position

Hooray!! one of my choices, this is a great game, rather obscure but such a great idea too, I didn't realise there were 2 versions of it, I had the Shards version on Electron cassette. Never seen it again to get a copy now.

Rather appropriate too seeing as i've just become a dad at the weekend so I know all about
babies and sh-- !

Congratulations on the baby.

Not sure about this version of the game.

Is the only way to start by doing a whoopsy?

After touching the rattle, it goes to the play pen, but I can't get the bicycle to move and then it is pretty much game over!

Many thanks for the messages of congratulations, will be a bit limited now for game playing but hopefully can still find time to join in.

As far as i'm aware you have to do a whoopsy to start a level. This version of the game looks the same as I remember it on the Electron (apart from the Mode 7 graphics) the music and other graphics are the same and the high score table has the same names too.

Sometimes when you try and collect a toy nothing happens but when you try from a different angle they then move to the toybox, I think it's a glitch in the game (or maybe a feature?)

I should really read the instructions before playing, think I'll do better next time.

That got me too for a while - the instructions are unclear, but leaving a whoopsie on the screen doesn't just stop things attacking you, it also stops you from collecting toys until it's been picked up.

Another game that you probably wouldn't take a second look at if you were just flicking through games - but, silly as it is, there's actually a surprising amount of strategy, skill, and depth to this.

82,450. I am the king of whoopsies.

Just had time for a quick go, managed to improve the score. I never knew you couldn't pick up
toys when there was a whoopsy on the screen, thats' taken since about 1987 to discover that!

This is my kind of game

Once you reach 100,000 points, the game goes into BOSS mode, and speeds up considerably!

Hmm... so if the baby wanders around leaving whoopsies everywhere - how does that work if he's wearing a nappy?

My older high score has been put in the high score table, it's probably my fault for putting a picture in there with 2 scores in it ! but there is a better one further up the the table.

Hey Matt, sorry about that..... I guess my old eyes missed it (or I was trying to find a way to get past you  ).

Not your fault, mine. I totally missed it.

It's sorted now....

Hi Ed. My high score is slightly further up the screenshot than the one you've taken. It's 31400.
Cheers,
Simon

Broke the 40k barrier, tough game but really has interesting game play if you think about the round before diving in.

Broke the 50k barrier....this is a good but tricky game. One false move and you get your diaper changed cause mamma has caught you.....

Not a bad little game, this - another "hidden gem" :D. One trick I've discovered is that when moving vertically up or down, you can go faster by rapidly moving left and right at the same time, and gain some distance from your pursuer. Best so far: 66,050.

Moved up a bit more.... that's a good tip Chris.... I found vertical is better than horizontal in this game. Moving diagonally, baby moves faster but.... so does mamma....
