I was worried that I was last, and then realised it must be sorted by last name, or something like that. :-s

Ummmmm.....nope, you're dead last at the moment, but don't worry, someone is bound to come along and start up that hasn't been playing. It will take them at least 3 rounds to catch you, but you'll have some glory in that precious few rounds.....

I did quite well with Mr Ee last time, so maybe I can repeat the magic this time ... not that it will help much in the overall table.

And you're a beastly rotter!  :-({|=

Ummmm....was it something I said?.... oh, ok.....sorry Richard, it must be the full moon....

But you do know that if it was last name spelling, you would not be last....Tricky would.....doh!...I've done it again...darned moon.....

I said last name - Tricky had no last name, so he must be higher in the table.

Not that logically it made any sense, I was grasping at straws, man! Trying to keep my fragile ego from imploding.

Go on, keep going, rub my face in the dirt, you've only warming up!

Ah Richard, there's nothing wrong with your ego.... You're busy doing projects on the Beeb so I'm just having a little fun, using the moon as an excuse of course.... and no, it didn't really make sense since there are virtually no last names being used except for one certain eccentric fellow.....doh!....blasted moon...

Hey Jools,

I just saw that Boxer is in the list twice, old eyes missed it and my backup (you guys) didn't spot it either.

Would you kindly pick another game that's not on the list and submit it in this thread so that we've got all unique games?

Thanks Jools,

Ed......:-)

In that case, I'll change my "Boxer" nomination to "Thrust" :)

Been playing Thrust on my Electron today ... it's not been pretty!

Maybe the Electron version is harder ... sure I wasn't this useless BITD (playing the Beeb version)!

The big winner of Season 3 is JoolsH. Great competition Jools and congratulations on a well deserved win. =D> =D> =D> .

Jools has chosen Ghouls as the champion round game to finish this season off with.

Having said that, there is only 2 weeks to get in your 3 choices for next season so, think about if for a day or 2 and then start submitting. I will start a new thread for season 4 which will commence in 2 weeks.

Well done JoolsH! =D> =D> =D>

I'm not last! :D

Only because Ivor's stopped playing, but let's not go into details.

Thanks for taking over running the compo, Ed. =D>

Yay! Thanks for playing, everyone, it's been a great season. You lot kept me on my toes 8)

Special mention must go to Android Attack. A game that I'd never seen before, and one of those games that if you loaded it up in an emulator you'd dismiss it after 30 seconds because it looks so scrappy and the first level is a bit boring. But give it a chance, and it's an astoundingly good game, and if it weren't for the high score challenge I'd never have given it a chance. That's what the challenge is all about :)

Tricky's Carnivale too - I'd had a few token plays on it and thought "this is pretty good", but never really got into it before this challenge. It plays really well, and has the "just one more go" factor - nice job on the conversion!

Here's to next season :)

Congratulations JoolsH on winning =D> and to Ed for his excellent stewardship of the high score challenge =D> .
I think this season was excellent, I thoroughly enjoyed 8 of the games, was disappointed by 1 and hated the other! Spaceman Sid I found disappointing as I feel the beeb could do a much better version of moon patrol. I hated pengo! It's just not my kind of game! The other 8 were great though Anarchy Zone is not as good as I remember. I really enjoyed both Android Attack and Space Hi-Way, both games had a similar effect as Duck! from season 1. I loaded them up and thought 'Really? This looks terrible!'. It just goes to show how much more important gameplay is than graphics.
Really looking forward to season 4!

I want to echo what others have said, and thank Ed for organising the competition, and everyone for taking part! =D> With all these games now easily available, some of the games would be easy to overlook. But I have to say I've enjoyed playing all of them - from my all time fave Starship Command to a quality new game, Carnivale. :D

Now, what to choose for the next season....? :-k

As the others have said thanks for organising this contest ! I agree that Android Attack was a hidden gem in this round as was Carnivale - both new to me and good fun to play too, bring on the next round, and please no more Starship Command, its been in there twice now, I think it should be new games. Anarchy Zone was a bit of a turkey, never thought much of it when I bought it years ago, seen better games in Electron User type ins.
