Got to the second blueberry stage, the ghosts switch to chase mode very shortly after starting their move pattern.

So my next score was a massive 70 points higher but I was playing much better when I noticed a bug. If you eat a ghost while it is in the 'tunnel' it's death animation is played over the top of the background which becomes black and ghosts can enter this area briefly. They collide with the remaining background and change direction. It really distracted me, better scores to come I think.

Spotted another bug, not sure exactly sure how it happened but I had a monster that was white all the time. Must have happened at some point as it was changing back to a normal monster and just got stuck. You could eat it as many times as you wanted and it just stayed white when it came back. Didn't get any points for it though :-(

New high score = 89,450

Would you believe I'm disappointed with this score? I threw away all my lives in totally avoidable situations then lasted ages on my last life. If I'd kept the lives I'm sure I'd be in first place.

Sorry about that Richard. At least now I know people look at that. It ends on this coming Monday, 9 PM UK time.

Back in the day this was one of my go to games (so much so I had it as an EPROM installed permanently in my Apex ROM/RAM board.

Just issuing *SNAPPER from BASIC was enough to bring it up any time.

My high score was around the 180,000 mark. Today on my first go for a long time I scored 46,000. I've got a long way to go.
I'm writing a game where you can change your character from a Wizard to a monkey to a cat.

Well, Imogen that!

This time I took a screen shot.
Snapper High Score Challenge #2.PNG
Hopefully improve over the next few days.

My fingers don't do what my brain wants them to do as well as they did in the early 1990s so I'm surprised I'm doing this well.

I got to the 100,000 milestone :D The ghost behaviour changes somewhere around the second grapes level, where they come for you much more directly. Not sure I'm going to beat this score ... 100,120.

Looks like I'm done for this round as my 'Z' key has given up the ghost.
No amount of bashing gets a Z on the screen so it looks like I'm going to have to take it apart and replace the keyswitch . That unfortunately means I'll have to tidy the garage in order to find my soldering iron.

Ed, I'd get nowhere near 100000k with an emulator.

However, I found my soldering iron!

The culprit:

Now I just need to make 3 trips to the tip with all the rubbish from the garage and I'll be allowed to play again!

Interesting.....my best score is on the emulator but it might be that my Master is not in the most comfortable position because the keys feel nicer, that's for sure.

Thanks, Ed. Had a few more goes but still stuck in the high-20Ks. Too slow, too stupid, and too lazy to work out the ghost patterns.

Will try and get past the 30K mark as a personal goal ... but expecting to fail ... :-({|=
