It's amazing in the 8-bit world how programmers get the 'feel' of the game to be different so often when you would think that particular thing might be somewhat limited.

Anyway, this is just to get us started. This is kind of my type of game and new to me.

Hmmm, might be another pixel perfect type game. Having trouble with one jump so I suspect that's why.....

Well, the jumps seem straight forward but still not getting one of them. Could be my strategy is wrong..... we'll see.

Scene 6 is crazy hard timing.

BTW Ed, which jump are you having trouble with? If it's the one i'm thinking on scene 3, once you make it past the blood and collect the cross, you'll need to jump back up to the left and then a mega jump to the right to get to the upper platform.

The CTD initials in my score list are by my youngest, he thinks this game is alright and wants me to download it to his iPad :-k

Bit higher got to level 10, noticed that the bonus cross stacks with each one picked up and resets to 1000 if you lose a life. The bonus is collected next time you pick up a cross rather than at the end of each level.

Managed an increase, up to scene 07 , the hardest bit I find is the blood drop right at the start of scene 05.

Finally got to level 7 but my score was, shall we say crappy?

I can see this is one of those games that once you solve a level, the higher scores you achieved early on will be much harder to achieve once you become 'proficient' at the early levels.

I only got 102k because of my inefficiency.

Ah, such is the nature of 8 bitting.

If you can make it to level 6 without losing a life your score will get to around 90k after collecting the four crosses, the crosses and minimal life lost are the key to getting the higher scores so doing the earlier levels efficiently will help in later levels as the bonus score compounds.

Last few plays I quit the game if I don't make it to level 6 on one life, that really sets up a nice base score to build on.

I did get to level 6 without losing any lives but lost them all in level 6. I think if you can get through that level (did it twice) your score is only around 50-60k. That's what I mean. When I lost all the lives on level 6, of course I kept going back to get the crosses and that got me over 100k. Otherwise the score seems to be much lower but I'd rather get through the levels than have to keep going back for the crosses. That's what I mean by not being efficient.

Another game where I just couldn't get past level 6. There's probably a timing thing with the drops that makes sense but so far haven't done level 6 enough to discover it.

My technique for the blood drops on level 6, get the crosses, then make it back down without dying as sometimes happens  then let the conveyor move you along just before drip one and press left to pause... wait for the right moment just as the splash is about to disappear and walk right and stop just before drip 2 by pressing left... repeat as above and the rest is not so difficult.

Trying to time a run right through is fraught with danger #-o

I even tried to jump over all of it from the crosses platform and thought 'yes I've made it!' only to realise that the fall was going to kill me

Yeh, I've gotten through 3 times now with that technique. I have died a couple times coming down from the crosses so yeh, that pain I've also felt. This is a pretty good game, pretty tough but fair mostly I think.

Got through to 7 after losing every life on 6. I kept mistiming the 2nd drop so..... good score and almost succeeded in 7th level too.... maybe next time. Really tough getting the timing on 6 right.

Well, I saw level 8 for a short, and I do mean short period of time.

The score was just north of 80k at that level.

Edit: Got to level 8 this time and lasted a bit longer. 102k so maybe things are looking up for me in this game.

Did a few runs this morning and got a small score increase, only made it to level 10 but had a better bonus run through the previous levels. The blank scores are where I quit usually after bombing at level 4 or 5 with the sketchy blood drip timing. Feeling I can go much higher with the 'right' run.

New high score, managed to see scene 10 at last, if you do make it to scene 06 without losing a life it does significantly boost your score.

Tip for scene 04 , run right straight away and you will always avoid the acid drop , haven't found a foolproof way of getting through scene 05 seems to be pot luck.

Will try that out for scene 4, for scene 5 that first drip is a bit hit and miss, I usually take a couple of steps forward and then wait for the drop to appear at the top and then jam the buttons for right and jump... sometimes works, sometimes doesn't... last few attempts I stand in the same position but jump first and then press right once in the air to avoid bumping into the drip too early, still working on it but seems to be a slightly better result than previous attempts.

Great game and enjoying playing, yet another I never saw BITD =D>
