Ok, some observations.....

The keyboard control is quite tricky. I suppose over time I'll get used to it. The name writing system is really hokey in my opinion (not necessarily a humble one) but the concept is brilliant.

Thought I would get us started with a low but targetable score. 3115

Ok, doing a bit better. This will be a tough one once I figure out how to move up the levels I'm sure.

Looks like a lot of fun though.... 6695

I hate pacman type games but I gave it a try. 12435. I like it better at the high speed of that level, the start levels are just annoying. The way to enter names is very annoying I just skipped it and when I tried, well, see the result :)

I found this to be the case until I realized you just go up the 'isle' that has the letter you want, move over it and down and into the next isle you want.

Once I figured it out and did my moniker a few times, it really wasn't that difficult. I don't like that system of input but once you've done your name a few times you won't have much problem with it.....

Got a bit better score. I for one am thankful it starts out slow. I know from music, this is the best way to learn anything, start slow, speed up as you get better. It's the law of the universe.

Another game I never really played BITD... I preferred Icon's Chrysalis but this is not a bad little game... 6895

Remember this one well from my Electron days, not sure if I ever got it on the BBC or not, if it was on Micro Power Magic then I had it.

Opening gambit of 8,960 from me - hopefully there'll be an upgrade of that in the next twelve days or so.

Wouter's score already beats anything we ever had submitted to The BBC Games Archive yonks ago, btw. Congrats, sir!

Another hour's worth of striving has got me to 12,840. Not sure how much more there'll be to come, but it's fun trying...

Quite a good game this one.

I remember when I got my Acorn Electron it came with the usual 5 Acornsoft games they were bundling at the time (Hopper / Arcadians / Boxer / Chess / Business Games). Then, a while later, my mum went to the computer shop and brought home two more games for me - Chuckie Egg, and Bumble Bee. I must've been about 7 or so. Obviously Chuckie Egg was the better game, but I quite enjoyed this one too.

Like a lot of home computer games of the time, it's a rip-off of an arcade game that I've later seen in Mame, although I forget what it's called. The arcade game had the weird high score entry system too IIRC, which made a bit more sense on an arcade machine (less so on a home computer that actually has a keyboard!)

Instructions / hints (somewhat stating the obvious):

- Collect all the dots and head for the exit
- Lure the spiders into the fireballs
- Avoid the mushrooms
- The spiders can move a lot faster horizontally than vertically, bear this in mind when herding them
- The spider timer is round the outside of the screen. When it reaches the top left, another spider appears.

Got to the second strawberry level (level 10)
