Never played this BITD, had a few runs and starting to get used to the play style, made it once through to the alien ship although I missed killing it first pass. Don't forget to look out for the connector rooms that can be used to change levels at the top and bottom of some rooms.

Score: 95250

This a new one on me, a really good little game, basic but effective, don't like the 1 life idea, and the keys are a bit fiddly, but otherwise this is a good little game.

Fun little game, I vaguely remember it!

I did better when I ignored the mission (96700 at the bottom), when I try to destroy the blimp thing quite often I keep dying :/

New high score !

Does anyone know what the numbers at top of the screen are ? one is obviously the score, but what about the other two numbers? also I notice a beeping every so often, is this low fuel or something ?

Score, Stage, Shields
A_Maze_In_Space -_Play02.jpg
At the start of a new run the spy tells you which stage the alien ship is hiding, the stage indicator tells you where you are currently in the maze. The tricky part is that stages are not always sequential and eventually loop around so some exploring of up and down tunnels is required to find the correct path to the target stage.

Shield gets depleted if you run into something, the bigger the something the faster it depletes, I really like this type of life system instead of a number of lives.

The beep is when you enter a new stage, something will be fixed on your battered ship when entering a new stage, usually shields or a broken gun.

Also keep in mind point scoring... I was busily trying to obliterate every thing on the ground until I read the instructions again and realized that the churches score -1000

Thanks for posting this. I didn't realise it was a shield system, thought it was 1 hit , game over, shields can be better than lives sometimes as you can continue going where as with lives you'd be dead.

One game I randomly managed to find and destroy the base twice. The other game I didn't, and was wandering around for ages, just shooting stuff. Guess which game scored more?

Not a bad game, the maze mechanic is a clever idea, but it doesn't quite work for me.

I wish I could compete, but will likely be away at least 1 more week, I forgot to write before I left: "don't select the games I chose until I return!" ;-) I will try this game, finally for a proper gaming session, when I return.

Yeh, sorry Wouter, this is totally random and to be fair I have to take whatever comes out of the 'bowl' so to speak.

You don't have a portable device? I played this on my ASUS tablet w/keyboard attachment.
