I'll post a starter score then...

I never had this on the Electron back in the day as the computer came with Boxer, Snapper and Starship Command (along with Desk Diary and Sphinx Adventure).

First impressions are that the controls are pretty clunky and whoever thought that F and D were good choices for keys must've been crazy (thank heavens for user defined keyboard mapping!). The graphics for the monsters themselves remind me a lot of Felix in the Factory.

Been a while since I played this one, had it as part of Play It Again Sam 11 I think it was.

Stupid idea using D and F as action keys, just because they begin with the same letter as their function, doesn't mean it's a good idea!

I keep getting stuck trying to get off the ladders. The controls are definitely not as smooth as some other platformers.

The keys are an 'acquired' taste. After a number of tries the muscle memory will kick in. I'm having the same issues with it feeling clunky on the emulator but it was like that the last time. It's actually a pretty good game once you get into it but it takes a few goes to get used to, as you say, the somewhat different keys that are used for dig and fill.

The first thing I did was change the D and F to Return and Shift. The game's not bad to be fair, just annoying with the ladders.

Best I can do for tonight. That change in pace after a few levels is pretty insane.

Ah, many a school lunch break spent playing this game BITD, might take a few goes to remember how to play.

Never really got anywhere with this one.
Whenever the green monster appeared it would kill me. I don't think I ever got it to drop through 2 holes to kill it.

I like the idea of the game but it gets hard pretty quickly especially with the controls the way they are. You don't really get much time to set traps. At one stage I caught three green monsters all stacked up on three levels one above the other. By the time I got to the top one it was crawling out so I ducked down to the one below but then it was getting out too and you can guess what the bottom one was doing when I climbed down to it.

Once the monsters start mutating and chasing you it's hard to do much except run. Fun but frustrating!

Not a great start - 5280

The game deserves a nomination for the most crippling default control scheme ever award. I'm going to try switching over to a Z,X,O,K,P (and a L for fill) to see if that helps.

A very slight improvement. After a few rounds the speed increases drastically and the game almost becomes unplayable. A lot depends on the positioning of the ladders, which are random, just like in Felix and the Factory.

Doubtful because of the massive speed increase after a certain amount of levels. You don't get much of a chance to react and it's pretty difficult to just get past the first one of these levels. Getting past the 2nd one is something I've failed to do so far.

Another slight increase but the white monster started directly above me on a ladder on the 2nd speedy level

New high score, managed this using the standard keyboard setup, rather than the modfied version, that said it's still not a great layout for keys, nowhere near as ridiculous as Felix In The Factory though.

The levels look like a cross between Felix In the Factory and Level 2 of Chuckie Egg !

A bit better again - 10220.

This is the sort of game that makes me wonder whether or not I'm actually any good at games. I think it's a combination of the randomness, slightly off controls, and a couple of other design decisions in the game.

I couldn't agree more with you on the "slightly off" controls. I can't count the number of times I've tried to get off a ladder at the top and I've stuck on the last rung. There's absolutely no room for error on the faster levels either. This game could've been much better with a few control tweaks.
