Got to level 10 this time but still just below Venger's score.

I have to say that you're very persistent :D . I've only had about 8-10 games since the championship round started. I may have to have another few goes in a bit if you continue creeping towards my high score
I will say you'd better start because I will be passing your score soon. I have the next level figured out, just haven't succeeded in completing it yet, very close though.......

If I could just string together all the bits I know how to do now! Anyway, I do have a little improvement in score up to 3170.

I couldn't play this weekend as I was playing football yesterday and on my way to London today. Level 11's not that bad to be honest; you just have to keep a cool head. I've gotten up to 13 recently by continuing with just the one life. The worst level is level 7 as it's so random and cruel. There have been loads of times when I've been running along the bottom to get to the door and a bubble has emerged under my feet to push me into the spikes.

Anyway, congratulations as it doesn't look like anyone else will catch you 👍

I agree, 7 is a beggar. I also have trouble with 3 sometimes. Believe it or not, I also get caught quite a bit on 2.....it just happens so fast and if your timing isn't on then it's easy to get a lightbulb in the eye.

This is a pretty good game though it has some scoring quirks that I'm sure you've come across. Other than that, it's an interesting game. I kind of like the fact that 3 and 7 are not automatic wins once you've done them a few times, it keeps them interesting.

Your score at 13 must have been higher than what I got. Although if I remember, I got stuck for 2 lives on level 2 on this one. I never do that on purpose because in this game I feel it's more important to preserve the lives. You don't always get through some levels on the first or 2nd go (read 7 here) so that's critical to me.

I've also been caught a couple times on the bottom running for the door. At least it's consistent, even if it isn't always fairish.....

I see you ahead there Joolz but don't think I'll catch you at this late stage. Such an addictive game with the passwords letting you train on levels you have reached already. I've been able to leapfrog ahead to level 10 but the challenge of getting all those levels in a sequence is really hard, particularly after my usual casualty rate to the light bulbs on level 3. Greatly impressed by those on higher scores!

Oops! Guess I can do better. Decided to have one last try before turning in and one of the "scoring quirks" gave me a boost. I took several tries to complete level 2 cleanly but got all the points each time then managed to have a pretty good run but only to level 6. Sorry Joolz, late night luck was with me.

Yeah, it's an entertaining enough platformer. I used to like games like this, Mousetrap, Chuckie Egg and Creepy Cave in the same genre. Blagger was okay too but very slow on the Electron.

I didn't have a higher score when I got to 13; you start off with your score at 0 and only get 1 life when you continue.

ah, right, that's how I saw level 12.

Don't know yet how to get through that. Blagger is a slow platformer, it has to be or you'd never get through. Even on the Beeb it was slow, but it was smooth. I'm guessing that's what you're talking about. It's certainly a game you need patience for. I know I used to love that game, not sure if it was 1 or 2 but I used to finish it and start over. Nothing changed at all in it going around so I think once I got around 4 times before the blighters got me.

Never knew about Creepy Cave, will have to check it out.

Final High Score Table Updated for Season 1, Championship Round......

As it turned out for this game (and I think it was a great one) most of the pack stuck fairly close together except for 2 that fairly outstipped the group. I feel fortunate enough I was one of those and Venger (who chose the game - =D> ) was the other. The winner in this one was KarateEd who has won a short vacation for his efforts. It's time to decide on the next Round's games so I will update the overall score sheet for nominations and then we can start the process again. =D> =D> =D>

There's supposed to be 24 levels in the BBC and Electron versions. I can't remember how far I got back in the day.

Well, that means I will likely never finish it. It's going to take me a while just to figure out the timing for 12, let alone the further along levels. But, it is a great game, quite enjoyable to play, even for a couple times once in a while.

If not for the HSC, I wouldn't have known about this game. Quite forgot about it first time round but it's got a place on my game play list now.

I had a little go just now and managed to get to level 22. There's no password for that level as the last 3 levels don't have any. It's a nasty level so I didn't stick around.

I'm still playing, just for the fun of it. I've got a new high score of course doesn't count for the HSC but it's a tough but interesting game to me.

Start thinking about your 3 games to be submitted for the next round. That round will start after the New Year so be ready. I'll put up a new thread over the next day or 2......
