Not a bad game, jumps can be tricky and random elements make it challenging, made it to level 2.

Big bonus for allowing key redefine, I'm using WASD, Enter Jump, Shift Sword

Score: 7990

Never played this (or even heard of it) before. I'll have a dabble when I get home from work though. Looks interesting.

Here's a starter score from me. As FourthStone said, the jumps are tricky (especially on the 2nd level). They can be frustrating because you can fall off the platform even when you think you're on the edge. No margin for error due to slightly dodgy programming it seems.

A small improvement. This game gets pretty manic, pretty quickly.

Slight bump up, had the chance to get through level 2 and got greedy with the key near the top.

I tried passing level 2 without collecting all the stuff but it wouldn't let me, so it looks like you weren't being greedy at all. I had a lesser score when getting on to level 3 than I did on level 2 though. This is what level 3 looks like.

Kicking off here with 5630. Pretty frustrating at first as my brain kept confusing jump and thrust until I tried a different keys assignment. After a bit of retraining I made it to level 2. Still frustrating but moreish...

I beat my old score and then had another go and beat it again, made it through level 3 and the game cycles back to level 1 but with less platforms, couldn't make it past level 4...

Well, never thought I would get over 10k, still on level 2, just can't quite get there. I know where I have to jump to but opportunities just seem so few to actually do it and when i do, something annoying gets in the way or the jump fails. Either way, this is the only time I'll ever play this game.

Wow, I admire =D> =D> =D> that you got through level 3 FS. That's an insanely hard level. I managed to get through the first 2 levels with no loss of life and so got a chance to try to play level 3. If it took me this long with fairly constant play to get through level 2 only 2 times then I suspect I'll be on level 3 the rest of the way. It's insane.

Thanks Ed, I've been playing again this morning, must of had probably 30 games before I made it through level 3 and most of those I didn't get past level 2, no new high score just wanted to share and agree on the insanity theme.

Feels like I'm playing the odds of getting a lucky run rather than playing the game, sometimes a bit of skill is involved but mostly just luck.

Now for one (30) more game... :^o

My analysis of this game is it's mostly random in it's challenges. In theory, a good platformer should be somewhat predictable once you master the keys. Point in case, Yoyo was insanely difficult but very predictable once you had a plan. You could 'count' on it to not change unless you did something different. Even the scoring was not random in Yoyo, though in Sorcery it's not either. 100 for items, 150 for ghosts, 300 for dragons.

With this game, even once you've got the keys mastered, the levels are so random as to what comes at you that you've no guarantee of being able to predict what you should do next. I think the game could be great with some tweaking but we'll never know unless someone like Tricky took on that kind of a challenge.

Anyway, it's not a game I will play outside of this thread, it's just too random for my taste and I don't believe the difficulty level of any platformer should be based on randomness.

Yes all very true, scores at the end of level 1 can vary from low 4k to high 5k depending on how many dragons spawn in front of you at the right moment and assuming no other sideways objects or other floating ghosts.. at times I'll pause for dragon fire when I don't need to or jump directly into it when I think it's clear.

Enjoying playing it still though \:D/

On the first level I've had lows of 3500 and highs of just over 6000 at times. Mostly the range for me getting through level 1 is about 4500, seems to average out to that.
