This was my fifth attempt but I kept CTRL-Breaking out when I made a silly move, anyone know if there is a quit key?

Ah Chuckie Egg. Its thanks to playing this 5 or 6 years ago on a Beeb at The Gadget Show at the NEC that I got back into the world of 8 bit. Thanks to whoever took the beeb there! :D

After two games, a rather poor warm up and then a semi-reasonable go where I lost it around level 14.

BITD I could get a lot further.

Might be time to practice!

My first and second goes.
I think this is around the limit of my ability on this game without spending a long time practicing. I'd never played it until the comptetition introduced me to it, it was the second game we played in the first season. There are some amazing scores posted in that round.

I haven't played this one for a while. As I recall, the difficulty's in getting past level 32. I'll have a little go tonight after work :D .

I had 2 goes and didn't get to the dreaded level 32 (only one level off though). I hadn't played the BBC version before and it's slightly faster (I think) than the Electron version so I'm pleased to have got as far as level 31 :D .

You have to go right, jump on the lift then quickly jump off left onto the first platform...

A bit better. My up key seems to work funny. It doesn't automatically go up sometimes and also when it does it's like a repeat where I go up and it keeps going. It's not like the other motion keys. Is that the same for everyone?

I did have a few problems with Impact. For some reason, when I hit level 5 in Impact, the bat would freeze for a second or so intermittently and made me lose lives unnecessarily.

The only problem I had with this game was similar to yours but it was down to my wireless keyboard; I broke the bit of plastic that holds the batteries in so sometimes the connection interrupts. It's rectified by pausing the game and reinserting the batteries properly again (I should really just sellotape it down like I did before).

Have you tried redefining the keys so that you choose a different "up" key?

Yes, redefining the keys doesn't change anything. This is only happening in this version of Chuckie..... so think it is in game. i tried a more recent version and it was fine.

Found the problem. Actually redifing a NEW up key did work. The real problem was a user defined key being used, giving it undesirable responses. When I removed the user definition and used default key settings, the key started working correctly.

So after 3 or 4 scores of around 253k I finally got past lever 23 with only 3 lives remaining. I had 4-5 eggs left to get on level 24 so with a bit more practice and luck on 23 I should be able to better this.

I finally sussed out how to get past level 40 :D. I'm not really relishing playing again as it takes over an hour a game. Managed to pass the 1 million mark too :D .
