Unidentified speech cartridge: Amstrad SSA-1 for CPC

Post by cmorley » Thu Oct 19, 2017 11:51 am

Does anyone know what system this cartridge is for? It came in an eBay Amiga 500+ buy (sadly quite badly corroded but I am fixing it) but it definitely isn't Amiga... C64? Spectrum? Some Atari?

I've identified it as a speech module because it has an SP0256A-AL2 on it. Week 14 1985.

Google found me a few similar cartridges for 8-bit 80's systems but I couldn't ID this one.

Looks like it is for something with an accessible expansion port and a nearby audio in jack socket.

There is no keyway in the edge connector in this one... the photos from the CPC wiki all have a keyway...

Huh.. seems like they go for £40 on eBay without the speakers. If anyone wants it PM me otherwise I'll list it.

Hi, do you still have it, and what do you want for it?

I'd like it so that I can reverse engineer it (when I have time....).
